Great alternative to blend greys, if you don't have many
I'm starting to get some grays, so I started dying my hair using Revlon Colorsilk, which is permanent. I liked the results, but over time, I felt that it was drying my hair too much and also looking dull. Now I use this gloss and my hair looks healthier, softern and shinier. It cover/blends grays quite well. The downside is that it doesn't last much. In winter I wash my head about 2 times a week, that's 14 washes per month. I think I need to apply this once a month or perhaps 6 weeks. Thus, it doesn't last the 28 washes as it claims. But it's still good and I plan to keep using it. Bonus, you don't get that harsh grow effect as you get with permanent dyes. You probably also want to touch up your permament hair color each 4-6 weeks anyway, so I'd rather do it with this gloss that nourshes my hair.

Love the burgundy 4RV
I’m in love with the color of the 4RV Burgundy option. I’ve been looking for a dye that leans more purple than red and this one did for me. It was super easy to use, I needed 2 boxes for my length hair and it left my hair soft and soo shiny, as you can see in the photos. These were taken indoors with flash lighting. Anytime I look for picture reviews, it’s rare I find people reviewing the color I’m interested in so wanted to post these in case anyone was looking to see results of the burgundy. I can’t attest to how long it lasts because I’ve only washed once since coloring but I didn’t lose much color so far. I’ll definitely be purchasing again!

Burgundy is where it's at.
Ok. I used the medium ash brown first. I saw grays right after rinsing and drying my hair. I decided to try the burgundy and I love it. I did end up leaving it on longer than it says and I think that helps with the gray coverage. I love that since it is demi that it washes out and there is no grow out line. I eventually want to go to my natural hair but I don't have enough grays for it to look nice right now. But anyway, I absolutely love the burgundy and will continue to use it. Oh! And I love the scalp and hair serum. I wish Revlon sold bottles of it.

Shine, good color, and inexpensive
Pretty good hair color that lasts about 2-3 weeks, based on how much you wash your hair

Gentler than Clairol Natural Instincts
Blended well with my existing color, and blended away the greys too. Note this color does not cover greys, but makes them less noticeable by tinting them a bit, so for me, they look sorta golden brown. Between this color and Clairol Natural Instincts, which is another demi-permanent hair color I had been using for about a year until I tried a permanent color, this one is much more gentle on my hair and scalp and did a better job blending without lightening my hair. I am not seeing a brassy tone with this color like I did with the other. I will keep buying this item.

Soft and bouncy
I love this hair dye! It was my first time using it and I must say I was very pleased with the results. It covered my gray and most of all it left my hair so soft and bouncy. Will be using this every time!

A good option
It doesn’t entirely cover grays. I needed 2 boxes to do shoulder length hair, which I didn’t mind. The color came out great, didn’t completely cover my gray roots. It did fade very quickly. Used it a second time and the color came out much darker and the second time around, it did cover my gray roots. It’s a good option for damaged hair. It left my hair feeling very soft and smooth and that did last for 3 days. Since using it a second time, the color is lasting a lot longer.

Still damages your hair according to AI, Color darker than expected, oily "care" is very itchy.
I was buying Revlon Color Silk Beautiful Color which is permanent dye. My hair is looking a bit fried and broken around my face. I decided to try Revlon Tone+Gloss+Care a demi-permanent. It is suppose to wash out after 28 washes. I usually purchased dark brown but decided to go with med brown. The demi dye left my hair darker, too dark, which is odd being a med brown. Maybe it to makeup for the gradual washout. The Gloss+Care was pretty worthless. Two small packages of product you put on after dyeing. The only thing they did was to make my scalp itch with a few little bumps. I can't say how long it will last as I only have washed once. It looked better after that first wash, got rid of the heavy oil conditioner/care stuff. Color held. Below is some AI research that I did that others might find useful. Is it true? who knows, but better than nothing. While both are ammonia-free, their formulas and goals are very different, which directly affects damage levels:Feature: ColorSilk Beautiful Color (Permanent) Tone + Gloss + Care (Demi-Permanent)Penetration Depth: Deep into cortex (inner layer) Shallow — just inside or on cuticleOxidizing Agent: Higher % hydrogen peroxide Lower % hydrogen peroxideColor Lasting Power: Permanent — grows out Fades over ~28 washesGray Coverage ✅ 100% full coverage ⚠️ ~60% — only blends graysDamage Potential: Moderate (even without ammonia) Low (gentler formulation)Damage Difference: ~30–50% more damage than dem (gentlest option)
