Awful product; gums pouring blood after regular use
UPDATED REVIEW ONE STAR:After using this type of toothbrush for a couple of months my gums are in HORRIBLE shape. I have switched back to normal plastic toothbrushes, much to my dismay. My gums started POURING blood after using these for awhile. There is a REASON the plastic toothbrushes have their bristles arranged in special ways and why they have softer bristles that are dentist-approved. The have spent big money researching the best way to arrange the bristles to get the best clean while being gentle on gums. I do wish the big name brands would start using better materials, or I wish these startup brands would put in the time and money to actually produce a good product and not just this “green” gimmick that shreds gums.Old review (4 stars):These are decent for what they are.Pros:- better for the environment- they are simple but effectiveCons:- the bristles are all arranged in one rectangular area so they don’t feel the same as the fancier plastic toothbrushes. More like the cheapest plastic toothbrush. I’d love to find a bamboo brush with biodegradable bristles that has the bristles arranged in a better way.- my husband won’t use these because he says it feels like he’s brushing his teeth with a mustache. I don’t even know what that means.

Super happy with this purchase
In an ongoing effort to ditch the plastics - it is SO hard to find a natural toothbrush where the bristles aren't plastic! While this is partial plastic, the fact that there was some plant-based material there was great. We LOVE these brushes. The head is a great size, bristles perfect softness, and the handles are great size wise to hold. We did use a sharpie to mark the handles so we know whose is whose, and we did have to stop keeping them in a cup, because the bottoms don't dry. We've purchased a new tooth brush holder to help with that problem. Will absolutely purcahse more!

Good for years until a new one falls apart
I’ve been using these toothbrushes for about 2 years now and I’ve never had an issue. Today however this toothbrush that I opened maybe a month ago...3 sections of this toothbrush fell out in my mouth while I was brushing my teeth this morning...not sure if it’s just this toothbrush..the others never gave me problems besides my husbands toothbrush that had started to fall apart after only a month of use as well. He doesn’t want to use it again. I really like the toothbrushes and want to order more but I don’t want them falling apart in my mouth again while I’m getting ready for my day...

which I thought was poor quality. However
I am giving this product a slightly lower rating only because the bristles started to fall out of the first toothbrush that I used in this set, which I thought was poor quality. However, I figured it might be the bad one of a bunch. For a couple of reasons, my boyfriend and I both started using our second toothbrush a month early, and so far, I have had no problems with the quality of that second toothbrush. It doesn't smell, the way that some brushes do after use, and the bristles don't feel softer after a month's use. I try to make sure not to brush abrasively, so I think this is probably average use. All in all, I feel confident enough with the product, and like it's purpose enough to continue having them shipped with a subscription. I don't, however, like the huge box that it came in-- I do wish that Amazon would size its boxes better, so that I didn't feel like one item is balanced out in its good work by the other, with its wastefulness.

Best in town, best around. Also dope bristle durability.
These are great! I’m still going to change it after 3 months for bacteria reasons, but honestly the bristles stay strong way longer than other toothbrushes. I don’t like my bristles too soft and I think the hardness in these are perfect; stiff, but don’t scratch your teeth. It’s a little awkward brushing in the back at first because the brush is thicker than most plastic ones, but it’s pretty easy to get used to.This brand is the best eco friendly toothbrush brand for sure; if a brand tells you their brush is 100% compostable, they’re lying, or the bristles are made of boar hair (which you have to sanitize often and ain’t nobody got time for that.) The only exception I could find anywhere is one really niche toothbrush brand that makes the bristles from a root, but I think the shape of their brush could use some work before it’s sold.

A good choice for a conscious consumer
I was concerned when the first of the four brushes started losing bristles within the first month. I decided to withhold judgement and I'm glad I did. The next two brushes lasted me several months each until the bristles lost their firmness. Now I'm on the last one and will probably re-order these. These brushes are much more sustainable than plastic toothbrushes and for that purpose alone, I highly recommend them. They are quite ergonomic in your hand, and although not as durable as their cousins from Australia and New Zealand (the bamboo brushes there easily lasted a half year each), I still very much enjoyed using them.

Who knew?
Who knew you could brush with bamboo! Love these!! After becoming aware of the amount of plastic toothbrushes in our landfills and the negative impact associated with all that plastic I wanted to find a safer option. These are perfect! It took just a little getting used to since the brush head is a little bigger than my old toothbruses. Other than that I have no complaints! I've been using the same one for almost 3 months now. Other than some whitening in the middle from my toothpaste it looks new! The bristles have yet to fall out compared to my 4 year old daughter's from a different company.

Brilliant!
I have started using my first bamboo brush from this 4 pack, and love it. The bristles, although softer to the touch than perhaps a regular toothbrush, do a great job of cleaning and do not get bent, damaged or anything of that kind. If anything, the softness encourages to brush your teeth more gently and for longer, which is better for your gums and enamel. The outer cardboard is compostable and 100% plant-based, as is the bamboo handle. For the bristles, you will unfortunately need to use pliers and pull them out, disposing of them in landfill like usual. But look on the bright side - with this brush, you avoid throwing a big lump of plastic away every 3 months, protecting the oceans !

Uncomfortable to use
Nice idea but the toothbrush head is very large and uncomfortable to use.

Too Big
I love the idea of these brushes. I haven’t loved the experience of using them as much as I wanted to love them. It’s only been a month so I am hoping I will continue to adjust. I also started using a new toothpaste powder at the same time (Orawellness), so it is likely a combination of the two that is causing some discomfort. I ordered the package of four, but now I wish I had ordered just one toothbrush because I think the main trouble I’m having is that I find the brush part to be very large - it feels huge. Next time I would like to try the children’s size as I think that will be a better fit for me. I hadn’t realized the adult sized ones were bigger than the average plastic toothbrush or I would have done that to begin with because I have a smaller mouth with TMJ issues so space is tight in there, lol. The bristles are fine, but because of the size they are irritating my gums in the back and making it painful to brush back there. I’m going to give it a little while longer and then I’m going to try and get my hands on the smaller size and see if that helps. Since the size issue has nothing to do with the quality of the product I still think it deserves 4-5 stars. I love the ethics of the company and we need more people to switch to sustainable products like these ones. My one comment, purely to do with personal preference, is the sensory aspect of using the brush combined with the slight ‘woody’ taste, while not unbearable, are not my favourite. I do believe I will adjust to them in time, and I do believe the sensory feeling is largely related to the grittiness of the powdered toothpaste in combination with the wooden handle (it gives me a very mild ‘fingernails on a blackboard’ sensation).

Great product
Great product. 4 stars because there are a few loose bristles on each of my brushes.
