I bought these small (2 1/2") decals for a newly purchased Otto 45 gallon NYC trash can. I affixed the black trash can decal in a 4" X 13" smooth, glossy white area on the side of the trash can where, presumably, owners are expected to write their house number in indelible ink. I cleaned the area with plain water and a soft lint-free cloth. The can and the decals were both at room temperature. I marked the location where I planned to affixed the decal, removed the backing and placed the decal where I wanted it. Leaving in place the paper covering the decal, I used a soft cloth to make sure the decal was in contact with the surface everywhere and after a minute or so, slowly peeled the cover sheet off the decal. The small decal remained firmly affixed to the surface to which it was attatched and I was able to remove the covering paper without tearing off or otherwise damaging any of the small details on the decal (e.g. the small protrusions on the sides of the decal which I presume represent handles, remained undamaged.) For such a small decal and an even smaller detail, that's quite impressive. Based on the performance of this decal, I may purchase larger versions of similar decals to replace other newly purchased decals I purchased from another seller on Amazon, which decals did not reliably adhere to the lid of the same trash can. I hope the decal didn't adhere well in this instance only because of the specific area to which it was affixed.

I ordered the medium size. I should start by saying, I followed the instructions PRECISELY in installing these Stickers. Because of the fact that the stickers are laser cut for each individual part of the image (meaning there’s not a weird edge around them or any background) you need to make sure your surface is cleaned well with dish soap and water and dried well. Then you slowly and carefully put the sticker on. The instructions were detailed, easy to follow, and mine went on like a dream. Now guests will always know which trashcan is, which! It is worth noting these stickers are probably not transferable. Once you put them on the surface taking them off and moving them to another surface would be extremely difficult if not impossible - So you want to make sure you do it right the first time! To clarify, they’ll come off the surface that you put them on without damaging it or leaving residue, but It is one time use. That said, because of the way that the sticker arrives between 2 backings, you can make adjustments before you put it on permanently, which is very nice. Definitely would recommend although perhaps I would’ve gotten the smaller size.

I got the extra small glossy black set, and I love them! They're the perfect size and very sleek, and applying them was super easy (came with instructions too). My mother got these as well, but she got a size small and they were huge (see 2nd picture) so unless you want them to fill the size of the lid, I recommend going smaller. Definitely would buy again. I can see these being good for big trash and recycling bins.

Great value and quality. I have silver/metallic trash cans and I bought the symbols in reverse grey thinking it would be easier for people to see which trash can is for trash/recycling BUT I should’ve gotten the reverse silver metallic as it looks for professional/clean. I got these trash cans from Walmart for $45 each which is a lot cheaper than buying the trash cans that combine or have both trash and recycle in the same unit… they take up a bit more space but they’re bigger and I don’t have to take them out as much. Hope this helps!
