Hitop 25W/50W/100W/300W Adjustable Aquarium Heater, Submersible Glass Water Heater for 5 – 70 Gallon Fish Tank (25W)

This 300W Hitop heater came in 1 day and saved my fish. My 90gal tank had two Marine Land 250 heaters completely stop heating at the same time. The water temp dropped very low as our house is only 67 in the day and 63 at night. The one 300w heater quickly brought the temp of the 90gal tank up to a safe level and is holding steady. A little over 15 bucks and problem solved.

Took me a minute to figure out you had to have it fully submerged but once I got it all the way in the water it was working really well! Doesn't take up much space, looks nice and suctions well. It's easy to adjust, too.

Works great and keeps the tank at the set temperature.

It worked great for the first few months but eventually stopped working.

Heating element in a glass tube. Pretty simple but also very critical. The best part of this is the temperature adjustment. These have gotten much better and more accurate over the years. Previous versions 10-15 years ago could have as high as +/- 3-4 degrees f. The newer ones I've used seem to be much more accurate at whatever temp you set them on. Also, the glass used is much better quality so the fear of putting your hand into a tank to remove it and getting shocked (not electrocuted) is much rarer if at all these days. Decades ago that WAS a reality many times. As for the suction cups that hold the heater in your tank I chose not to use them. My tank is loaded with coraline algae since it's a reef tank so any hope of having a clear spot on my tank wall is a fantasy. It stays in place by creating a drip loop and only having an inch or two of cord going over the top and side of my upper tank. I set it a while ago and after 2-3 months of temp checks it's less than 1 degree f of difference.For the money it's definitely a good buy. And when it comes to heaters and pumps I ALWAYS have spares! You don't want to have either one of those two go out on you and not have time to get to a pet supply store in a reasonable amount of time, especially with lots of coral in your tank. It's a very worthwhile investment and safeguard!

I needed a way to control the temperature for making yogurt and kefir. I placed this aquarium heater in a large container filled with water along with the yogurt or kefir I was trying to ferment. The results turned out perfectly. It was during the winter so I was trying to keep the water warmer than room temperature.

This is my second time purchasing the same heater. I have one in my 20 gallon high tank and it works perfectly. I have never had any problems. My other tank had a different brand heater and it stopped working! So I purchased another one of these heaters for that tank. I am excited because I know that I won’t have any problems moving forward with two tanks with this same heater in it. Price is great, quality is awesome, and it keeps my fish warm and happy.

A 50% working average isn’t too great. The heat is pretty inconsistent on the one that does work. Honestly, I’d pay $10 and get a nice one if I were you.
