Although it bears the same title as its British forerunner, this stateside version is as homegrown as Pittsburgh, where the action-amorous and otherwise-occurs. Each episode is densely plotted and definitely not for those who favor sanitized dialogue and characters stuck on the straight and narrow. 20 hours on 6 DVDs. While it can be a bit contrived at times and the acting sometimes a bit poor it starts to cover all the issues that gay people have and that is its power i fully recommend it and all the others esp if you've been trying to get hold of a decent gay movie to watch without cringing and dying of boredom

Nowt So Queer As Folk
I know I'm a traitor and I'm really sorry guys but this USA version of Russell T. Davies' Queer As Folk is far better, and dare I say it, more realistic than the British version. Don't get me wrong, I love Charlie Hunnam (who doesn't!!!!!) but this version just p****s on ours! Don't believe me? Then see for yourself and you don't have to be gay to appreciate it! I've got all 5 seasons and love them all. As usual they just stopped it with no explanation! I dunno eh? Nowt so queer as folk!!!! Lol 😁

Super Serie für das "queere" Volk. Aber auch für alle anderen selbstverständlich :) In manchen Charakteren findet man sich selbst auch wieder. Und auch wenn hier viele schwule Klischees verwendet werden, so ist es dennoch recht realistisch umgesetzt finde ich. ich liebte die Serie, als sie damals im TV lief und da war es für mich eine Pflicht, diese Box zu kaufen.

A Ground Breaking Series
Queer As Folk was a REAL ground breaker when it first hit the airwaves back in 2001. Nothing like it had ever existed before. The characters are so believable and human.
