This has been one of the most helpful learning tools we’ve used in our homeschool routine. The interactive pen is what really makes this stand out. It gives immediate feedback by lighting up green for correct answers and red for incorrect ones, and it gently guides the child without being loud or overwhelming. You can also adjust the volume, which is a great feature. It covers a wide range of early learning skills, including alphabet recognition, letter sounds, phonics, early reading, and even basic math. The variety keeps things from feeling repetitive, and there’s plenty to work through. For my child, who has ADHD and struggles with memory and focus, this has been especially helpful. The instant feedback keeps her engaged, and she can work more independently without needing constant correction from me. We were able to go through multiple pages quickly while still keeping her attention, which is not always easy to do. My daughter is also a BIG fan of Pete the Cat as well, so this was was a win in and of itself. Overall, this is a well-designed, engaging learning tool that supports both skill-building and confidence. The education with these books is phenomenal for what it’s worth my son learned so much from these. The sound is perfect and functional. I think this is a great start for any kid in pre-K and on up they have different types of books and you can also just replace the pen itself if it does break. The pen work for any books. It’s great to have in the car or going to a doctors appointment to keep a child entertained and learning. I find these better than a tablet.

Great book for seeing how much your kid knows. This is easy for your toddler to use on their own. Great quality book, the colors are very vibrant. The sound quality is great and adjustable. Worth every penny to help your little grow their minds.

My kids love learning and this item lets them study on their own since the pen lets them know when they are doing things right or wrong. It is good for independent learning!

I ordered this Educational Insights Hot Dots Pete The Cat Kindergarten Reading & Math Workbook for my grandson. I actually ordered two different Pete the Cat sets at the same time. One that is designed for Pre-K that has simpler questions and this one. I let my grandson play with the easier version first so that he could get the idea of how it works without facing challenging material. It was always my intention, though, for him to spend most of his time with this version. The concept is not a new one. I remember playing with a similar toy when I was little, except that the stylus for the one I had was connected with a wire and only lit up for correct answers. For my grandson, that system of no lights no sound for incorrect answers would probably be better. You see, he really loves the sounds that the stylus makes when it detects an incorrect answer. And, actually, pressing the stylus down on any surface that it not the black correct answer dot will produce a "wrong answer" sound. The floor, the walls, the dog, his shoe, his hand... all of these quickly became targets for the stylus so he could get the sound he loved. For kiddos with a tad more self-control, this is a fun and engaging activity. There are lots of pages, and there are no glaring errors that are sometimes found in similar items manufactured in countries where the main language is something other than English. It is possible to turn the sound off on the stylus, but any kid will quickly learn how to turn it back on again. Thankfully, the volume is not screaming loud like so many children's items seem to be these days. And, to his credit, I did hear my grandson playing with this item on his own and, from the sounds I could hear, actually trying to get the correct answers.

This makes learning fun for my 5 year old.

Nice quality but I wish the pen read the card because after all this is for a kindergarten they can read and answer the question.

Fun toy/game to bring on long rides. My 5 y/o can do some independent play in the car while still learning and being able to interact with us. I like that it gives immediate feedback When he’s right/wrong and that he gets a chance to try a different answers to correct himself. It’s is sturdy and the pictures are clear and easy to understand for kids.

This was a nice activity with my kid, wasn't enough to pull them away from the other birthday toys though
