I have been meaning to add Internet to my garden for some time but was unsure how well it would work. My house has solid 500mm thick walls and signals don't penetrate well. Having identified a spot by a window where there was a 35% signal (use an app on your phone) I ordered this more in hope than expectation. The build quality is very good, fitting it required drilling through the window frame for the cable but that was no problem (ethernet connectors need quite a big hole). Set up was fine once I'd read the instructions properly. The results are excellent. I get a strong signal in line of sight 40m away, which is as far as my garden goes. Surprisingly around the other side of the house I still get an acceptable signal in part of the garden some 30m away. In fact inside parts of the house devices will connect to this rather than the router! This has enabled me to install WiFi security cameras as well as getting connectivity in my greenhouse and shed. Delighted!

Have boosted my outdoor WiFi so I can use the CCTV without needing a data SIM card, all I needed was a cheap micro sim so will pay for itself in the long run. Also works for my wireless doorbell up a long driveway. The signal is strong and covers my whole 1 acre garden. The connectivity is good and only drops if my router in the house plays up, you just need to turn it on and off and it quickly reconnects. I have it high up on the side of the house.

I got this for a specific reason which is to operate a Traeger pellet grill and a Meater temperature probe block via Wi-Fi given the patio the grill is sat on is some 15 metres plus away from the router and out of range. The pellet grill only operates on 2.4 GhZ hence a single band extender is sufficient. I also bought a J bar mounting pole and a longer ethernet cable given the one that come with the unit is only a metre long. The item was well packaged and appears robust, there is no reason to dispute the weatherproof claims and indeed it has withstood several heavy downfalls of rain. Installation was problematic in the first instance as it is very easy to miss the stage where you select the appropriate mode setting, I wanted to simply use it as a repeater as an extension to my house Wi-Fi. Once this was figured out (there are videos online) set up became pretty simple. The pellet grill and temperature probe blocks were then connected to the relevant Wi-Fi network and after a couple of minutes the Traeger grill Wi-Fi strength went from none / poor to excellent, after several uses there has been no WIFI drop out on either the Traeger or Meater apps. Overall happy with my purchase.

-10 stars. This thing has a super basic and unintuitive UI with very few features or options. My internet connection is poor at 25mbps, but through this device I get around 1.5mbps which is almost unusable. This week the signal strength dropped inexplicably and I get poor signal stood right next to the device. All the attached cameras etc have lost connection as a result. I've been emailing customer service but they don't respond and in the meantime my security systems are down. Try googling wavlink botnet if this hasn't already convinced you not to waste your money on this useless junk. [Edit] To their credit, Wavlink replaced this unit fairly quickly, but not after I lost confidence in the product and purchased an alternative.

What a great piece of equipment. We needed to boost a WiFi signal from 200m+ away for a remote office location. It was easy to configure and understand the clear instructions. This unit did the job very well with a great boost to the signal conectivity. After 11 months we had a technical issue (not a comnplete failure, just a glitch in the configuration) and after some very helpful responses from the support they offered to replace the unit. I wish all vendors provided such great support and replacement service! Great product at a great price with great service.

Used as the far end of a long range link to outbuildings so I needed it to connect to one wifi AP (access point) and become an AP itself with different SSID (wifi connection name). It was not easy to work out how to do that through the settings portal, but once sorted it has worked extremely well and the range is impressive. It's early days but it seems reliable - not required any resets or maintenance since it was installed. I like equipment that gets on with it's job without hassle. Build quality seems good as well. The bottom bit looks like it should resist rain etc and the mounting is well designed. We get our internet over a fixed 4G link (EE) so I'd like to try wavlink's LTE version for that as well.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Reasonable value and everything you need for installation is there, including the wall plugs. As to the wifi installation I started to have problems. Tried a number of browsers with the recommended IP address and the variousWavlink addresss links but could not access my H3 wifi extender setup page. Looked on my iphone for an app which I found (WavRouter) and this allowed me to access the setup page and fill in the requested details. However, now my attempts to access Setup again on the app produces the response 'No device is currently bound' and I cannot progress any further, I can see WAVLINK-N_OCDF in my list of networks but connecting to it does not take me any further. Will try their support for a solutions. p.s. didn't get anywhere using the PC+ browsers approach.

Excellent coverage and get wifi all round our garden, but speed is nowhere near the advertised 300mbps despite using the correct cable. Fairly reliable with minimal downtime but installation not all that easy requiring login to the Wavlink website rather than traditional router access. Have since had loads of unwanted emails from them too. I added silicon sealant to protect as was not convinced of waterproofing of cable connection area, sat very loose with no rubber seal and not convinced of weatherproofing. Overall feel it's very expensive for what it is.
