SHIMANOSprocket Cassette

Is excellent for long days riding at a high and comfortable cadence. I installed it on a Scott Addict Team Issue which came with a 11-25 cassette combined with a 54/36 at tbe front. With this cassette, the Addict feels like my Cervelo Caledonia, confortable and easier on my 57 years old knees. Just had to replace the rear derailleur for a medium size, the original small one shifts no problems BUT, the mechanical ratio or diameter doesn't change. Therefore, I couldn't feel any change through the different cogs. Until I replaced the derailleur as well.

The r8000 is only 47 grams lighter than my factory r7000 (105) cassette but shitting felt so much smoother. My bike came with Ultegra front and rear derailleurs but they gave me 105 cassette because it is more durable. When I bought a new pair of carbon wheelset, I bought this r8000 cassette and loving it. The shifting is smooth even in the middle of a hill climb. Worth every penny and Competitive Cyclist had it delivered on time and no damage on the package. I will probably buy another r8000 to permanently replace my r7000 on my training wheel.

Genuine Shimano cassette. I’m using this on my gravel bike paired with Ultegra chain and carbon wheels. I like the tighter gear spacing compared to a 32-12. I might suffer a bit more on steep hills but 99.9% of my riding is on the flats and some rollers.

Parts start to wear out over time. It's a slow process, so you don't realize at the time when your shifting starts to get worse. I swapped out a chain and was still getting some chain skip on the cassette and shifts were sometimes slow to respond. I looked up my mileage and had around 8k, so I was overdue. I picked up the 11-28 r8000 to go with my Dura 9000 parts. It was like getting a new bike again! So smooth. It works perfect with the older Dura Ace line.

Ultegra cassettes have always been good. I have the both 11-28T and 11-30T. I like that the 11-15 are 1T increment so you can really dial in your cadence. Then from 15-25 are only 2ts apart and from 25-28 are 3t apart. You can really fine tune your preference of pedaling and cruising speed. The weight is also good 251 grams for 11-28T. big improvement when I upgraded from SRAM 10speed to Ultegra 11speed. Of course, I had to change all my shifters and derailleurs to Ultegra. Someone recommended I change the chains every 1k though to make this cassette last longer.

My R9000 Dura Ace cassette fell apart after less than 5000 miles. I replaced it with this 11-30 ultegra cassette. It's about 60 grams heavier. I notice no difference between the two cassettes. Shifting is very smooth and quiet. This is a great buy.

Needed the 28 tooth for climbing some Colorado passes on my road bike. Much better!

The Shimano Ultegra R8000 cassette is easy to install and when paired with an appropriate chain provides quiet smooth shifting. Do not be fooled into thinking the chain comes pre-lubricated, it does not. Whatever is on the chain is there to protect the metal. It is far more cost efficient and long lasting than the Dura-Ace cassettes.
