A pretty basic introduction
This is a basic introduction to Jami the Persian Sufi poet. The first part of the book covers his life, a brief biography of Jami. The next chapters cover some of his most famous works the story of Salman and Absal, the Lawa'ih, the story of Yusuf and Zulakha and the Baharistan. The final part of the book are selections from the above 4 books translated.While this is a nice little book it is very brief and covers only the most basic of the life and works of Jami. The author however, has remained faithful to the teachings of Jami and has done a fairly good job in explaining the teachings of Jami to the reader and providing him/her with a fair introduction to further reading.Worth buying as an introduction to Jami or Persian Sufi poets in general.
