The new battery powered hand held pressure washers don't use pressurized water from the hydrant like a gas or electric unit does but rather siphons the water from a bucket, pool or stream. I don't think pool or stream water would be good to wash a vehicle with, so I needed a source of fresh water but did not want to stop and fill the bucket each time the water got low. I found these float valves and garden hose to 1/2”NPT adapters on Amazon and to make the water bucket auto filling. The float valve comes with a bracket, but it was not sturdy enough for my use, so I designed and 3D printed a heavy duty bracket to fit on a standard 5 gallon bucket like all the large home improvement stores have. The float valve system works great and keep the bucket full faster than the pressure washer can use the water. This thing is junk. Water shuts off when the valve rises but sloppy seals etc and the water slowly drops out of the top. I returned an fried a second thinking I just had a bad one, no bueno on the replacement either.

4 because value is great. The fittings included with this float valve are useless. The street L has Chinese threads, close to being MIP and FIP but don’t mate with any fittings at our hardware store to keep from leaking. Float threads work with brass fittings I purchased.

Outstanding performance!!! Outperforms the expensive float valves. Once you set up the installation, replacing it is a breeze (in case it needs replacement; I have been using mine for 2 years, and it works flawlessly). Just unscrew the old one and screw the new one, and that's it!

This tank float helps me keep proper amount of water in the tank. The compact size is perfect. Very easy to install and works like a gem. Great price

It works but it leaks no matter what i do to stop that it still leaks so it kind of defeats the purpose of even having this cause i have to shut off the hose every time i am done with a fill. I can’t just leave it on to fill on its own or it will flood my home. i got this for my dog room hoping for an automatic watering option, i ran a new water line and attached a short hose from the spigot to the auto fill unit. I tightened eveything used the stuff provided in the box. nothing worked it still leaks out of the couplings on the unit. so i have given up and iam trying somthing else.
