Purrdy PawsSoft Nail Caps for Cat Claws Green Glow in The Dark Medium

You have to clip cat claws before putting these on. Good luck getting your cat to sit still while the glue sets. Once they are on it is funny to watch the cat try to shake them off. Then they spend the next week trying to chew them off.

Cat nail caps have been a furniture and bedspread saver for us. Luckily the more destructive of our cats is calm enough to let us put them on her two front paws. We tried another Amazon brand as our first set of soft nail caps. They worked well but were a bit tricky to open. With that first set we matched her black color and found that to be problematic in being able to see when a cap needed replacing. Therefore we got these green ones from Purrdy Paws to be able to notice when any had fallen off. What we like about these is that the rubbery material is softer than our last set and easier to open for putting in the glue and for sticking on our cat's claws.I've recommended these to others with indoor cats who scratch furniture (even with kitty scratch posts in the house). I can't put them on our other cat because she is just too tough to handle, so I'd only recommend these to people whose cats are pretty mellow. Even with our mellower cat, we sometimes have to do it over a couple of nights. After doing several nails, the cat sometimes gets too agitated to keep holding without a fight. Also, it takes two of us - one to hold and soothe the cat & then push each nail out when the time comes to put a cap on, and one person to put the glue in the caps and stick them on.

I purchased these in order to help our 2 year old cat adjust to our new home without tearing up any furniture, as I didn't know how she would react to her first move. They served their purpose, although my cat did not enjoy the experience. She tolerated it well enough, but the application process was quite frustrating for her. If you do not already have a special connection with your cat, I would NOT recommend attempting to apply for your own safety. It is not as easy as it sounds....(And yes, I did apply them perfectly, thanks for asking.)Also, these did not glow in the dark at all. (Even after leaving the whole bag under a bright light for 20 minutes.................nothing.) In fact, they were just a boring green color! (What a rip off, right??)My cat is considered to be slightly above average in size, and yet the mediums were a little big on her, though they stayed on fine for the most part, but a few fell off once or twice and I needed to reapply them. However, they did stay on long enough for me to train my cat to use the scratching areas I have set up for her rather than our furniture and the "purrdy paws" allowed her to enjoy scratching without actually damaging anything until they finally came off.Overall, I would recommend simply trimming your cats claws regularly and providing at least two scratching areas per cat in your household rather than using these. They are more of a pain than anything and I would not purchase again.

These were very reasonably priced and came with everything you need to get them on your cat (besides patience and a towel to wrap him or her in). My cat did NOT enjoy having them put on and immediately ran away and tried to get them off. He's had them for about 2-3 weeks now and hasn't been able to get them off on his own. I have really enjoyed not having my arm shredded to bits when I play with him and will be buying nail caps in the future. The only thing is they seemed a bit big for his nails and the tips rubbed off right away as a result (he is about 10 lbs), I ordered small to see if that works better. The nails do glow in the dark slightly but its not overly bright. My cat also has short fur and as a result he looks a bit like a drag queen with bright green acryllic nails- but hey no scratches.

Functional and fun

The glowing was FANTASTIC! We had a blast seeing the green nails at night.It's not 4 stars, because I suspect that these are missing the cleat lock system that makes other cat nail caps so useful. I'm very good at putting nail caps onto my cats, and yet, somehow, HALF of these were gone by day 3. Our cat also managed to eat a couple, and I haven't caught him doing that before.The other brand I used on the other cat lasted weeks.So, fun, but it may be more short lived than some other brands. I'll probably order again for special events.

These work fine for the price, with S&H they were about half of what you would pay for at a pet store. My only qualm is that these are very soft and squishy, more so than the name brand and only after a few hours my cat had chewed off the front bits of the cap.Which leads me to my next point, the sizing is very off, it says for cats but i'm pretty sure these could fit a medium sized dog. I would order a size smaller. If your cat is used to them, they're an awesome buy but I would splurge on the sturdy ones for a first time cat. My other cat freaked out when we put them on her. Also they do not glow even after charging them for a couple hours.

These are very simple to put on - if your cat is relaxed and doesn't mind having his paws messed with. If your cat happens to be a bit of a drama queen like mine, you might want to have someone help you put them on. Wrapping my cat up in a towel and only leaving his head and the paw I was working on out made things a little less hectic. Now that the caps are on, he doesn't seem to mind them. The caps are a lovely day-glow green, but they don't seem to glow in the dark.
