10x20x1 Air Filter MERV 8 Dust & Allergy Defense (4-Pack)

I do not post often and usually only of bad experiences, but then I find companies that come along and make life easier, I have used this filter for long, they last and protect my family and my AC ducts decently, I ordered the wrong size and the way this company handle the whole thing was exceptional, no arguments no ‘sorry you ordered the wrong item’ but pure and simple ‘don’t worry your new filters are on its way’ simple,direct and timely , good air flow, good value , and if you order the right size they will fit nicely

These are the only ones that fit inside the mini-split returns I have in all my bedrooms. They are a bit snug but much better in shape and quality than other brands I have purchased in the past. They match the size description. I have them on Subscribe and Save, so they arrive when I know I need to replace them.

Pleased to find these over-sized filters that are not typically carried at big box home improvement stores. Unfortunately, we’re not delivered by the estimated due date provided prior to and after checkout. This caused a logistical problem for me.

I switched to these from Filtrete. 20x30 Filtrete filters were always a tight fit in my register, I had to jam them in and they usually got crumpled a little bit. These went in perfectly, cost less per unit, and they don't bow upwards as much. I also like how they give the actual MERV 8 rating for these, Filtrete doesn't (anything over MERV8 puts extra stress on your HVAC and costs you more to run).

Did lots of research as to what central air filters we should be using a couple of years ago. Most said, you want to use a certain kind of MERV 15 filter. The motor doesn't have to work very hard and it cleans the air very well. Then I came across several actual HVAC service personnel that actually work on the systems. Except for a couple that said you can use up to a MERV 10 if you want, the majority said no more then a MERV 8. They said your HVAC system filter is not an air purifier, you buy those machines separately if you need them. They said an HVAC filter's only purpose is to keep dust and dirt from accumulating on the fan blades, in the blower box, and on the motor itself. Dirt and dust on the fan blades makes the motor work harder and overheats it which means shorter life. I've had 2 motors replaced in the 20 some years we've lived here. The service company can charge you about anything they can get away with if your needing heat or ac in a hurry. Air purifiers on Amazon have reasonable prices. Much less than an HVAC tech will charge per hour plus parts. Same way with those super heavy duty air filters promising they'll clean the air in your house. If the filter has small pores, it will indeed trap more dust and pollen. But the motor has to work much harder to pull air through those tiny pores in the filter, shortening the life of the motor. We could tell immediately how much more air came through the registers when I changed from a MERV 15 to an 8. I have 2 new MERV 15's left, they will be tossed in the garbage.

I can’t speak for other sizes and MERV ratings, but if you’re looking for a 20x30x1 MERV 8, this is the choice. I’ve been a homeowner for two years (built in1965), and my return is unfortunately located in the hallway floor. I’ve had to go down in MERV rating now until I replace my 16yo HVAC, but I went through basically every option of this specific air filter type. The ones that cost more than these? Literally the exact same thing. I’m not kidding, they are no different besides branding. The ones cheaper than these? I’m assuming they’re not MERV 8, because these were the cheapest out there for me. They sell D2C to allow prices to stay lower than anywhere, but provide the same product all of these other brands do. This is the one. You’d be crazy not to get these.
