Open source computing
I enjoy the liberty of choosing my own software. This Pi 5 is fast enough to browse the internet with. I like that you can change the OS by switching SD cards. You can try stuff and not worry about bricking it.

Good starting set
Used everything in the box except the case, as it's not compatible with HAT to add an NVMe drive.

Aluminum case build quality issues
I've a few of these but the latest one seems to have some build quality issues when it comes to the Canakit aluminum case. The power LED light pipe & power button didn't actually fit correctly and bent/broke when force was applied. Previous ones fit just fine.Otherwise, these kits generally work great (although the aluminum case can get a bit warm, but it doesn't result in throttling).

Everything needed to get started with a Raspberry Pi 5 8GB.
This CanaKit is a fantastic, affordable, way to get started with a Raspberry Pi 5. At $169.99, when reviewed, it includes everything needed to get you up and running, from all the needed hardware to all the needed software. Perfect for beginners or those that don't want to fuss with getting set up and want an almost out of the box set up.Note:-This review for the "Starter Kit", not of the Raspberry Pi itself; it alone is an amazing little device and outside the scope of a simple kit review.Positives:-8GB of RAM version of Raspberry Pi is plenty to run most any variant of Linux and even a minimal installation of Windows 10.-128GB Samsung EVO+ micro-SD Card will hold plenty of data to get you started, and is fast enough for most applications.-The micro-SD card comes pre-loaded with all the required software to get you up and running in Raspberry Pi OS. I think this may be most important for beginners that have no experience with getting a computer of any kind up and running.-The aluminum case was easy to install, the only finicky part, being the little thermal pad, but that'd be the situation for pretty much any case.-Includes 2 micro-HDMI to HDMI cables @ 6ft each-45w power adapter is more than enough to drive the Raspberry Pi and devices plugged into its USB ports.-The micro-SD card to USB-A adapter is fantastic and already be used for other things.-Included instructions are easy to read.-CanaKit's YouTube videos and tech support are there for you should you have any issues. Though, I doubt you will with this kit.Negatives:-I wish the power adapter's cord was not attached.Nitpicking:-The prongs on the power adapter do not collapse.-The rubberized top of the case collects dust and shows it off really well.Considerations:-You might be able to get everything included in this package for less if you're willing to scour Amazon and other online stores.Price Breakdown:-Raspberry Pi 5 8GB: $119.99 list price, though I've seen as low as $95 on Amazon-Simple aluminum case: $15 to $30 from a quick Amazon search.-128GB Samsung 128GB micro-SD: $17 on Amazon-2x micro-HDMI to HDMI 6ft cables: $20 for Amazon Basics-45w USB-C power adapter: $20 for an Anker-micro-SD to USB-A adapter: $10 for SanDiskTotal: $177 if you did a quick Amazon search for similar parts. If you pay the full $119.99 price for the Raspberry Pi 5 8GB, instead of the current $95, you're looking at ~$201.99!Overall:-Looking at current pricing, assuming you don't have any of the accessories already, this, again, is a fantastic way to get started with a Raspberry Pi 5 8GB! Very highly recommended! This review is for "CanaKit Raspberry Pi 5 Starter Kit PRO - Aluminum (128GB Edition) (8GB RAM)"

Looking for a Raspberry Pi 5 with lots of memory? (8GB) Great for learning and experimentation
Looking for a Raspberry Pi 5 with lots of memory? (8GB) Great for learning and experimentationThe Raspberry Pi 5 Starter Kit PRO - Aluminum (128GB Edition) (8GB RAM) has lots of room for me to play around with. I’ve been using this Canakit Raspberry Pi to explore and play with lots of different operating systems, and the Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB of memory handles everything easily. I’ve tried: Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Kali Linux. The kit comes with almost everything you need to run the Raspberry Pi 5 in the box. (You will need a mouse, keyboard and HDMI monitor initially, but install VNC and you can connect into your Pi with your laptop or PC without the mouse/keyboard later). The aluminum case fits the Raspberry Pi perfectly and is nicely designed with easy access to all the ports. Also included are two micro HDMI to HDMI cables for easy attachment to TVs or monitors. If you like exploring technology, then this Canakit with Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB is a fun kit, and a perfect choice with your first Raspberry Pi since it has the power supply, cables, case, and pre-installed OS. The extra 4GB provides lots of room to explore apps and different operating systems.
