ULANZI MA35 Selfie Phone Tripod Mount, 2-in-1 Magnetic &Phone Clip Grip

I needed something I could attach my iPhone 15 to a tripod without removing the case (and potentially weakening the case's materials), and so I began looking for MagSafe compatible tripod mounts. When I found that this had the most positive ratings, I decided to pull the trigger, and I'm glad I did; this grip by Ulanzi is quite a pleasure to use. The magnet is more than strong enough for my iPhone to attach itself to the grip, and it won't let go unless I detach it myself. Connecting the Bluetooth remote button took less than 15 seconds to pair with my phone, and once paired, it takes less than 3 seconds to connect. I do love that the remote button is detachable. Also, if you hold the button in, it does produce burst shots on the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, or 15 Pro. I haven't used the cold-shoe mount yet, though I do have some accessories in mind that I'd like to try with it. The picture quality is what you would expect from the phone itself, so the grip doesn't enhance or worsen what the phone is capable of producing, although the front mirror of the grip does make it easier to frame a selfie shot. The only downside: I've found that the grip and the stuff attached to it will fall over when a tabletop tripod is used, so to counter that, I recommend using a slide mount to readjust the center of gravity. Other than that, it's a great MagSafe compatible grip. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been eyeing magnetic grips with shutter releases for my iPhone 16 Pro Max for a while since I haven’t been able to master the art of holding the phone at a precarious angle and taking a photo without dropping it. I’ve been eyeing other brands and decided that I’d try Ulanzi again, which has made some tripods/phone mounts that I rather like and have worked well. Setup was virtually a non-issue. Pairing with my phone took less than a minute, and I could slap my phone on and be ready to take photos. Keep in mind that this is just a shutter releases and does not zoom, which is fine. Nor does it change modes between video and photo. Remote is detachable and is charged via USB-C and automatically powers off. Very nice. It feels very nice nice in my hand, like I’m holding my Canon cameras. Weight wasn’t an issue coming from DSLR’s with heavy lenses, so this felt fine. Good build quality, but I would have really enjoyed a wrist strap attachment on this. For $20, this is a great product and I could have easily spent 4x this (or 20x this price for Leica’s) and it’s a great value and I have given some away as gifts already.

Although I would like to warn of a few small points. 1. The product is very well thought out, it has a comfortable grip and above all the magnet is strong! As long as you use the iPhone directly or a slim/unobstructed magsafe case. 2. The plastic material could have been better, I think they could have used ABS for $20, however the finishes are good. 3. The integrated clip to hold a phone without MagSafe IS VERY STRONG, so much so that it is scary because a small blow could make it jump. I would not recommend using it with "wide" phones, they could damage them or break the mechanism. 4. They were able to take advantage of the space in the grip to put a small compartment and store: a USB cable, SD card, screws, tools or small adapters, even something simpler like an additional 1/4 hole or for a wrist loop, I don't know ! I'm happy because the quality is better than other similar products that feel cheaper, but I don't know if I would buy it again for $20. I am more excited that they release a more compact and versatile 2.0 version.

Bought this to be able to take pictures with my phone while traveling and has been a lifesaver. Very simple to use, a great value for the price, the swivel helps take landscape and portrait images quickly and easily. It also can attach with non magnetic phones if needed whenever a friend might want to borrow it. Have been using it at home and for traveling and has helped me take better pictures with my phone. The detachable button also has great battery life as I can have it connected to my phone all day without having to recharge it. I think I've really only have had to charge it once when on a 2 week trip. I even dropped it in the sand and while at first it was stuck, after a good clean it was like new again. Overall great purchase. Would buy again.

It's workable for adding a tripod mount and hot-shoe to a phone, but there are some annoying limitations due to poor design. First, it's supposed to have magsafe on both sides, but the side with the mirror is so weak, my wife's iphone 15 pro with magsafe case only holds on if you don't move it at all. Second, you can only do a horizontal mount in one configuration, otherwise the palm-handle gets in the way. This is fine if you're handheld, because you're holding it the way you would a normal camera, but if you're tripod mounting and want to use both sides of the magnet, you may want to flip the side your phone is on to use the back camera, possibly because of the aforementioned weak camera, and now you can't mount it any more. Basically, overall, the product does what it says, but at a very minimal and mediocre level, without putting thought into how big and heavy modern phones are.

Very useful, very cool. The tripod threading is very important as well as the shoe attachment. I've found the reflective piece convenient for filming yourself and setting up shots. The camera grip is not slippery and slightly rubberized letting you get and keep a decent grip. It comes with a sticky magnetic attachment to simulate magsafe for phones that don't have it. The magnet on the grip is very strong, if you don't have a magsafe phone it also has fold out clamps to hold a phone in place.

I bouthg this mount for my iPhone for my trip to Disney, the idea was o make it more practical taking picture and video of my vacation. The goods: the magnet are very strong and the phone never falls, very nice grip in size, able to rotate the phone for portrait mode. very good pairing with my iPhone, very light. The main issue here is that the battery that powers this mount is very very small. Does not last even half day if keeps on all the time. So it has to turn on and off all the time so this became an inconvenience. The idea of the remote is good, but should b like separate internal battery for that and to keep the bluetooth connection another bigger battery maybe of the size of the grip or able to use AA batteries. Again very nice device with a major flow. I don't really recommend this product if you intended to use for your vacations, will run out battery in 2-3 hours max.

Really works good. Fit is solid with the magnet in either orientation. Charges at a good speed and lasts quite a while. No pictures of my own fingers in a long time! The little detachable trigger is a nice feature.

I use this a couple time a week for attaching to my phone and taking product shots. It's easy to use and has a lot of flexibility in positioning. The magnet is very strong and secures my phone perfectly. I've used the front magnet and cold shoe with an accessory light easily. Connecting to Bluetooth was a breeze. It's a perfect fit on all of my tripods and selfie sticks. It is excellent value and is easy to recommend.

Strong magnetic contact with added clamp for security. It’s very easy and quick to connect by Bluetooth, however you have to reconnect every time after you remove it from the phone. The only concern I have is that the shutter button is only held on by magnets and is not clipped in place, so could become dislodged and lost.
