Q: Is this strong enough to prevent an average size adult cat from opening a drawer?

Yes! My cats were the reason I installed these magnets on cabinet doors and drawers. They’re 12 and 10 lbs, but it’s the larger one who is extremely curious. I used the self-stick tape that came with the magnets to mount them. They work perfectly and I would highly recommend. Note: I had to remove the small bumpers on the doors/drawers because the magnets are very thin and some wouldn’t make contact with bumpers in place.

Q: Can you tell me some tips to make the adhesive more sticky?

Before installation, you should clean the surface of the catch and cabinet door that you plan to adhere to. Also you should close and open the door after 12 hours (very important) in order to make the adhesive compound adhere well on this surface.

Q: I have a soft close kitchen cabinet drawer that keeps opening, can these be used to keep drawer closed?

I would think so, it worked on my cabinet door but mine is not a soft close door and I do have to close the door but the magnet keeps it closed, before it was standing open. I dont know how hard it would be to install the magnet, you have to have a magnet on one side of the drawer and the catch on the other for it to work.

Q: The photo shows four sets of what looks like three pieces - are there three pieces per set - what are the pieces used for?

Yes, there are three pieces - two metal pieces - one goes on the cupboard door, and one on the cabinet you want to close the door to, and the red piece is double-sided sticky tape that you can use instead of screws to fix the metal pieces to the door and the cabinet. I used the sticky tape, and it works really well. Very happy with this purchase.
