Nicely made product! I actually bought this as a hack for a smaller window opening and was able to cut the louver and screen material to size and insert into a frame I made, along with a piece of unused anti-allergen air conditioner filter I had kicking around. I needed something to vent the top of a tall narrow window in a high ceiling-ed bath, and this did the trick. It took some time and patience to pry everything apart (this is simply, and well designed), and was able to cut the metal louver panel with a tin snips. Version one will work for now, and I still have the other section of screen to improve on the next version. As for their intended use, I'd seen some in a mountain cabin years ago, and they did a great job of allowing ventilation, and keeping out the rain. If I could find them big enough for my other super-wide windows, I'd definitely pick some up! Great product at a great price!
