Stopped working within 24hrs. Noticed my thermostat temperature creeping up, was set at 27 and ended up at 30 which means this pump over heated and affected the tank water temperature also! And I bought 2 for 2 tanks both exactly same and stopped working.

This product is one of the worst products I have bought. If you need my evaluation, I will give it a bad evaluation because it broke down in the first week and when I started using the product, it was very hot. I do not advise people to buy it and I advise them to buy any other product.

Great little filter. Effective and silent. Unfortunately stopped working after a week and I followed all instructions precisely.

Stopped working in the first 3 hours of use

Very disappointed. The product that I received came with a broken motor propeller. There’s a lot of visible deep scratches in the surface even though it was well packaged (Product box with bubble wrap within another box). It seems I was given an already used item.

I am so happy with this HOB. I have two others that are this size but by different brands-the others are so noisy. This Nicrew filter is silent.It does a great job.It has an easy to use variability knob.It has a sponge prefilter (awesome to save flowy fins, baby shrimp or frog legs.)I am currently using it on a 4.12 rimless cube for a betta.

This is a nice little HOB (hang-on-back) filter that I’m currently using on a 6-gallon planted tank. It has a compact design, has adjustable flow, and, best of all, it’s very quiet. I barely notice it running. So far, I’m very happy with its performance and would definitely recommend it

This will be my go to HOB for 1-5 gallon and my first choice for a 10 gallon betta set up.I have two top fin 5 gallon tanks that I bought in an emergency situation. The filters they came with were intrusive, they hung inside the tank, and were garbage at their intended function. After about 6 months of dealing with them I searched for a replacement that would fit and work. The lids that came on the top fin tanks had a cut out for the filters so I needed something that would allow the lid to fit because we have a cat. After a couple hours of research and with cost in mind I chose these. And I’m extremely happy. They are very quiet, do the job they are suppose to and look good doing it. The flow adjustment is responsive and the design of the flow knob is easily serviceable.In my opinion with weekly water changes they are perfect for heavily stocked 1-5 gallons and may even be used for something like a 10 gallon planted betta home with light flow.

For the cost this little filter cannot be beat. I should couch this by saying I've only been running it for a few days, but so far so good.Takes a while to get up to speed when it's turned off (for water changes as an example) and requires water in it to prime it - and it's very loud while it's working the water into itself. Once it's going though it's truly silent, I've never had a filter this quiet.Flow rate is adjustable, and while it's surprisingly decent flow for it's size, it's not very high even at max and shouldn't have any effect on livestock that require low flow.I think my only real complaint is that it's clearly designed for rimless tanks - I've got it running on a little 2.5gallon rimmed tank I picked up for super cheap, and while it does fit OK, the clearance between the filter body and the intake arm is very very small and took some creative angles to get everything connected in properly for it to work, but it does work. If your tank is rimless you should have zero issues with it. If you're planning to run it on a rimmed tank, your mileage may vary.Comes with a little filter media cartridge with some filter floss, sponge, and carbon - I swapped mine out for my own filter media and am running it without the lid so I can grow a house plant in it (I put terrestrial plants in all my aquariums, you should try it, it keeps them insanely clean), but the cartridge it comes with is a perfectly acceptable set of filter media and great for beginners.
