A good cd. 3 1/2 stars
Boy, I've had this cd for a while now. Can't believe that I haven't reiewed it yet. Here goes. Immune was my fourth metal disc and I have had it two years now. I don't have their previous albums, so I can't make any comparisons here. But from what I heard, their fist cd is death metal and their second cd is death metal with some hardcore in it. On the other hand, this disc is basicaly gothenburg metal mixed with hardcore and a little nu-metal. It's not a bad release but definitely could have been better. It's very melodic throughout and the lyrics are somewhat dark. My only real complaints is that it is too short, 38 min., and the music starts to sound the same, and thar I wish that they were a little harder and kept a little more death metal in their sound. Too bad it was their last cd, Lance, rocky, and Chad make a great team.

Soul Embraced-Immune
Soul Embraced's "Immune" is without a doubt one of the best releases of 2003 along with Nevermore "Enemies of Reality", Darkest Hour "The Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation", Nothingface "Skeletons", Skindred "Babylon", Sworn Enemy "As real as it gets", and Hatebreed's "Th Rise Of Brutality."The CD's opener "Immune to Emotion" is one of the best songs on the cd. The song remains technical but still has a lot of energy. The second "The Hero" is one of the more melodic/emotional songs on the record. This song is not too heavy and would satisfy people not into straight up death metal. The third song "I Bury You" is one of the faster songs on the cd. This song took me a while to like but is a good song. The fourth song "Abandoned" Is a song like "The Hero" but the guitar in the verse has a nu metal feel to it and the melody in the chorus seems dull compared to "The Hero."The Fifth song "Someone Just Walked Across my Grave" is another heavy song on this record. This song unlike some of the other songs has a true metal feel to it. It is reminiscent of some songs from Darkest Hour's Album "The Mark of Judas." It however doesn't sound like Darkest Hour too much. The sixth song "Someday" shows how Soul Embrace can truly combine their melodic side with their death metal side. This is one of the best songs on the cdThe seventh song "Existence in Despair" is another great example of how Soul Embrace combines the technicallity of death metal with the catchy melody of whatever genre you think has a catchy melody. The 8th song "On You Own" is the best on the cd. Great guitars, drums and inspirational lyrics. No singing but still very melodic.9th= "Seems Like Forever" has probably one of the catchiest choruses on the cd but the song is ruined when Chad tries to sound "Twisted" like Jon Davis. it almost sounds like rap metal. The chorus makes up for the verse and it is still agood song.10th="Shadow World" is heavy and technical and is probaly the most straight up death metal song on this record. Even though it is not straight up death metal.Recomended for people who like: Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, Underoath(maybe)Just think of Living Sacrifice with singing mixed in,

Better Than the First
I've had this cd for awhile. This is an album that grows on you the more u listen to it. At first I thought it was good, just not great. But the more I listened the more I liked. My favorite songs on this cd are "I Bury You", "Abandoned", "Someone Just Walked Across My Grave", and "Own Your Own". If your a Living Sacrifice fan then pick this one up.

Great CD but kind of repetitive
First off I'll say that this is a good cd with many catchy moments and songs. The production is flawless and is mixed perfectly. The musicianship is decent but nothing too spectacular. However, I got kind of tired and their style of slow (100-140 bpm) repetitive riffs that make up every song. Now some of them are really cool. Someone Just Walked Across My Grave is a great song and when he whispers someone just walked across my grave it sends chills through your spine. Existance in despair is also a well arranged song but overall the album is repeated over and over. 3 1/2 starsBest Song: Someone Just Walked Across My GraveOne Word Review: Repetitive

"Immune" proves to be infectious
...Immune is a great disc. It is a departure from the death metal-tinged slants that SE has offered on their previous three reelases,( "Fleshless," "For the Incomplete," and "This is my Blood"), and throws in some clean vocals for a change. It is more metalcore than the previous releases, yet is still a very good listen. Songs like "I Bury You," "Abandoned," and "Immune to Emotion" carry a positive vibe and are made for good listening. The rest of the disc is all over the place complete with an acoustic track. All in all, the music is good for fans of Nothingface, Killswitch Engage, and Living Sacrifice, (who own all!). So pick this up and enjoy the music to the fullest.

like it, but not as much as the first
don't get me wrong, this is an awesome cd and definitely worth buying. i do, however prefer This is My Blood however. i've always prefered balls to the wall metal and that's exactly what "timb" was. they lyrics this time around i'm not as fond of, with my favorite song being "someone walked across my grave." i still love this cd and play it when i'm driving to work all the time! one of my fav bands!

where did I hear this before?
I have been a hard rock/metal listener since the age of 14 and these guys amaze me. they sound like the Everdawn with Arch Enemy singer Angela Gossow taking over vocals, and they even have some melodic singing thrown in for good measure. for more variety of Christian rock/metal, purchase As I Lay Dying, Zao, Petra (RIP), Stryper, Bloodgood (RIP), Extol, Jacobs Dream, Tourniquet, Hangnail, Demon Hunter, Mortification, Narnia, Showdown, Underoath, Kutless, Norma Jean, Flee The Seen, and War Of Ages, as well as Living Sacrifice (RIP).

Very Good
This CD is one of my favorites. Tormenting vocals, great guitars... This CD though is not for people who dont like death metal or hardcore.
