Screw very soft. Went out of shape if you didn't have exact cross head screwdriver.

Really nice design and look good fitted.
Bought for new shed windows to replace cheap nasty ones. Very pleased with these. Easy to fit and the 'duckbill' shaped ends are easy to open and close without catching fingers.

Product let down by cheap badly made fittings
Bad experience with this product - Bulk Hardware BH01592 250mm Victorian Casement Stays Solid Brass (Pack of 1). No instructions but should have been straightforward !! Unfortunately the very first screw I used snapped at the head as I gently tightened it. Had to check all remaining 11 screws (6 for each stay). Although none of the others snapped the thread on all screws was thin and failed to grip well. Spent a while sorting out some alternate screws. Second problem - the tapering on the pegs was almost imperceptible and irrespective of how you lined up the holes it was impossible to get the stay to fall smoothly over the page (it needs to be tapered to handle the slight arc as the stay falls over the peg. Had to spend over 30 minutes filing down each peg to create a taper. Third problem - the pegs were not all a standard size so having positioned one and then had to remove to file the taper I must have refitted a different one - the peg is not central in each case. Fourth problem - on checking each page I found one was so wide it would not fit more than halfway into any hole in the casement stay. Back to the filing !! Final problem - even the pegs which did fit do so with no room to spare meaning that you need to ensure the placement of the pegs are correct to within fractions of a millimeter - not a job for the fainthearted.What should have been a simple 30 minute job all in took over 4 hours in the end and made me vow never to use this supplier again. The product is clearly not fit for purpose and I would warn anyone thinking of buying this to beware.

Good quality for the price. Including screws in the pack would have made it better though. Service excellent. Great communication.
