Saved my dress !
Stained my pop flex night gown, left in boiled water , left to cool a little for around 20 minutes with pretty constant stirring. Left me with a beautiful dark grey color, was aiming for black but I enjoy this grey color more than I realized. I just needed to leave it in the dye for longer, but I am satisfied I was able to save my dress ! Use gloves ! This will stain things ! The process is a bit involved and messy , but the results are worth it. Followed instructions on back of bottle , minus leaving it for the preferred time. My dress was 100% cotton, however the satiny bows did not pick up any of the dye, which turned out fine

Easy To Use
I wanted to dye some white caps I had so I gave this a shot. I was looking for more of a FDE color but this one was close enough. I filled one side of the sink with hot water and half the bottle and let the caps sit in it for about 20 minutes, stirring the caps every 5 minutes. Then, I rinsed them with cold water and let them dry. They turned out really nice. The color was a tad more coppery than FDE but overall, I am satisfied with both the color and how quick and easy the dying process was.

My clothes look new again!
I opted to used this black rit dye in the washing machine. I stopped the machine and let a pair of jeans, pants and a shirt to soak for an hour. Every 15 minutes, I stirred the clothes and make sure they were completely submerged. I finished the washing cycle and placed them in the dryer. I wish I would have taken a before and after pic, but they all turned out perfectly. They all look new again!

Better than....
Worked better than bleach! Took colors right out, made it a bit spotty but it's ok because I'm tie dying anyways!

Donโt Use the Gloves!
The dye itself is great, but the gloves are very inadequate. I used this dye on a pair of jeans, and I stirred it with the gloves on. I did not allow the water to seep in at the wrists, but it got in anyway. There must be some slight tearing at the seams. I ended up with fingers and fingernails that were dark blue! I recommend you use your own thick, Kitchen gloves.

The right chocolate brown
My first time ever dying material and it was a success! I couldnโt find the exact curtains that I wanted for our shabby chic off grid cabin in the woods. I wanted a rich chocolate brown and Rit dye delivered! Making and dying my own curtains was much less expensive than just settling for whatever was already on the market. Make your own and own that craft!

Needs to soak longer than bottle says
Overall I went with 4 because I was mostly happy with results. I have a black zip up hoodie that was getting super faded and had a small detergent stain which lead me to purchase the black dye. My hoodie does have a design on the front and back (a gold metallic vinyl). On my first attempt I followed the instructions. Filled a 3 gallon bucket with hot water, dawn dish soap and half the bottle of dye. I let it soak for 40 minutes. After washing it out it looked tie-dyed more than solid like I hoped. I read more reviews and tried again. On my second attempt I filled the bucket again with hot water, dawn dish soap, the rest of the black dye and added some salt. I let it soak for 20 hours and stirred it a few times. This time I was much happier it was more solid. Itโs not perfect but it looks way better! The gold parts still show perfectly! Overall for the price I think it is worth a shot, it was easy to do I think doing a shirt would be easier since itโs not a thick. I shouldโve taken a before and after picture but I forgot.

Rit is easy to use, no staining of hands or countertops and works great!
Works great-I fill the kitchen sink with hot hot water, 1/2 a bottle of this dye and a squirt of dish soap and I was able to dye 5 shirts, a light jacket, 2 long dresses and a tote. I rinse them in cool water until the water runs clear and then let them dry and I can throw them in with the regular unsorted cold-wash laundry the next day. The color is a bright apple green on cottons and a more muted sage on non-cotton fabrics. Rit's been around since I was a kid in the 80s and it still works if you want to dye your clothes different colors for more longevity/coordination. I get so bored of my clothes and this is a cheap solution!
