While this is a true hardcover, the description doesn’t make it clear that each page is removable: this is a postcard book! So while you certainly could appreciate this as a delightfully illustrated flip through book, each card is intended to remove and mail (or frame). I’m a huge admirer of the artist and am familiar with the Japanese edition of this title; I understood I’d be receiving postcards, but it’s a mystery why the US/UK version buries the lead here.Each of the 24 unique 4-3/4” x 6-1/2” cards is beautifully printed on a pen-friendly and very thick matte cardstock. The address side includes the name and year of the piece. One of Higuchi’s iconic and adorable unicorn cats is printed at the postage field. (These slightly oversized cards will require U.S. letter-rate postage rather than the postcard rate).The cards are not difficult to remove from the binding but they are bound in a way that allows them to remain intact should you prefer to retain this as a picture book. And what pictures they are! Full of furry astronauts, fungi, and fantastical cats, this is a fabulous (and affordable) introduction if you’re new to Yuko Higuchi’s work. And good news if you’re already a fan: these cards are not just repeats of her earlier release, “100 Postcards”.Every part of this book just oozes... love. I was not surprised by the detail of Higuchi’s luscious illustrations, but the quality and construction of the book itself (illustrated hardback, dust jacket, vellum title page) is rather mind-blowing. As an avid Postcrosser and frequent reviewer of postcard sets, I buy a lot of postcards... but I’ve not encountered a set quite as stellar as the materials used here. I bought 2 more copies after my initial purchase so that I’ll have one for mailing, one to keep, and one to gift. It’s just that good.

Been eyeing this for a long time and finally bought it and am so glad I did. It is up there with some of my favorite books of all time. These prints are far too lovely to mail away as a postcard, I think Ill be framing them and hanging them up. The paper is very thick, the prints are very detailed. Everything youd expect from Yukos work. Just lovely!

Love this postcard book. Beautiful, unusual artwork. I saw it first in some brick store, then ordered on Amazon as it’s much cheaper here. I mailed most of the cards to friends and family, keeping a few to myself.

These postcards are so cool and are great for postcrossing. The drawings are really unique. The thickness is good and they separate nicely from the book.

I love everything about this book. The print on the hardcover is beautiful and the cards inside are just wonderful. I bought these with the intention of sending them out but I think I'll have to keep it and get another book for sending. The hardcover really does make it extra special.

A gift to a cat lover.

I was very happy to get this darling book. His drawings are fantastic and magical. I bought a second one for my brother in law who loves all things Japanese.

日本の物とは違うページもあり、紙の質感や色の出方も違うので比較してみるのが楽しい一冊です。ヒグチユウコさんファンには必須アイテムだと思います。

Lindas ilustraciones, la calidad del papel es muy buena.

既に日本で出版されているヒグチユウコさんのポストカード集の英語版。日本語版とは表紙の感じがちょっと違います。摩訶不思議でキュートなヒグチユウコワールドは、海外でも認められているんだなと、ファンの１人としては嬉しくなります。ちゃめっ気のある猫たちの表情やお洒落なファッションが大好きです。丁寧に描かれた怪しげで美しい作品の１枚１枚。切り離すのがもったいなくて、そのまま大事にしています。普通のハガキよりも大きなサイズの24枚が収録されていて、この値段ならばお得かな。
