As I get older, my skin is getting really thin. I bruise very easily and then my skin tears open and I bleed everywhere. I live in East Texas where the temperatures are equal to the sun and the humidity is like living under water, so I don’t wear long sleeve shirts, but I tried one pair of these sleeves to protect my arms and I’m sold! I slip the sleeves on, put on my gloves, perform the task, and remove the gloves and sleeves when I’m done. Bingo! I just ordered two more pairs! They fit me perfectly, are pretty comfortable, and are not too hot. With the thumb hole, they add padding to the top of my hand which is also prone to bruising and bleeding. The Velcro strap at the top keeps the sleeves secure and prevents them from slipping down my arms, and it’s very easy to adjust with just one hand. The only minor downside for me is the thumb loop. When I wear work gloves over the sleeves, I prefer not to put my thumb through the loop. Leaving it unused works fine for me, especially when I'm cutting back all the dense vines. Overall, I'm very happy with them!

We have a 4 month old puppy and my husband is on blood thinners. These sleeves have saved his arms from the puppy's sharp claws. Before the sleeves he looked like he was in a massacre. They are strong, comfortable, easy to put on and look good. I bought another pair so he could change out every other day. I highly recommend these sleeves ! They really do work!!

They took a little longer to get here than stated but that’s okay. I used them working on my truck and while they did keep my arms from getting cut or scratched, they did nothing for the bruising. I guess when you get old, thin skin, nothing but thick padding will help and it’s too hot for that.

I was limbing a tree with my mini-chainsaw last fall when I slipped in the mud and accidentally cut into the back of my other hand. Luckily the damage was just at the skin level, but it made me realize that it could have been much more serious. I’ve been keeping an eye open for safety products ever since, and these sleeves piqued my interest. They’re well-manufactured, and the material feels like good quality. I tested them with my (very sharp) jackknife, and they resisted cuts and punctures nicely. The ANSI 6 rating offers above average cut resistance, which is reassuring. I’m not sure if they’d stand up to a mini-chainsaw running at full speed (and I’m not planning to test it), but I think they’d at least protect against a glancing blow. I know I’ll feel a lot more secure when I’m wearing them this fall. They’re easy to put on and take off, and comfort is relatively good. The Velcro buckles keep them pretty secure on the bicep, but I find the raised thumbhole irritates my hand a bit. They’re also quite loose in the wrist area. That said, the material is fairly flexible, and should fit most arms. I think $22.99 is a fair price for sleeves of this quality. It never hurts to shop around a bit, but I would certainly recommend these. 4.5 stars

toolant ANSI A6 Cut Resistant Sleeves: so I skipped past these sleeves but then I thought, hey that is exactly what I need but the knife in the picture threw me since I was like when would I ever need that in the kitchen. I like to work outside, I like nature and tending plants and chopping firewood but every time a plant touches, especially my forearms, I break out in hives (and no I am not allergic) and I end up with bruises and cuts as well and I really hate wearing long sleeves in summer or even working outdoors in the fall so I thought these would be perfect. I can't say I am of fan of it attaching to my hand in between my thumb and index only because obviously I am wearing gloves and now not only do I have a double layer on my sweaty palms but it also feels odd at the palm. Oddly enough though no one in their advertisement is wearing gloves...so you protect your arms but leave your hands exposed? There isn't a soul I know that would do that. I was surprised to see the velcro at the end of the arm and I thought that would cause issues but it actually didn't but the gap between the velcro and the arm band definitely left me exposed. It is clear they are not cut proof but they help minimize cuts. Tree needles can get caught in the material so you are not necessarily safe from that and even though it isn't fiberglass it can be itchy against the skin if you do have sensitive skin like I do. It is hardier than the arm sleeves you can buy and a lot less tear resistant than them and for under $25 these aren't that bad and can be handy in the right circumstances.

I have not felt any noticeable cooling effect while wearing these sleeves but I do not mind. I did not buy them for their advertised effect on the ambient temperature felt by the skin of my arms.
