Definitely works
36 inches of snow and working great. To early to review the durability, as this is the first season I have had it, but it is sure nice having that clean landing pad surrounded by 3 feet of snow.

These work really well...when they work
Works great to melt snow or even thick ice but the cord, where it attaches into the mat is a serious issue and a total design flaw. Once that cord breaks as you see in my photo, it's not only a fire hazard, but the mat will stop working and there's really no way to properly repair it. I like this product but TO THE MANUFACTURER, Please fix this problem!

Works Great..Especailly if connected to a wifi enabled outlet.
If this mat continues to perform like it did during a recent 7” snow, we’ll be very happy. Not only did the snow not stick to the mat, the snow didn’t even accumulate in the area about 1/2” outside the perimeter of the mat.I’m too lazy to remember to plug/unplug it from our outdoor receptacle when it snows, so I paired it with a (separately purchased) internet enabled outdoor power extension and programmed it only to turn on when the temperature dipped below 35 degrees and there was precipitation. It’s industrial looking, so if aesthetics are ultra important to you, this might not be the right mat. It’s gray/silver, but it looks fine to me. If it’s not placed near an electrical outlet it would look awkward with a thick electrical cord running a long distance. Fortunately, my outlet is is only inches away and I am able to hide the excess cord behind a planter. Bottom Line...Be prepared to purchase a separate internet enabled extension to get the most efficiency from this mat.

They don't last long
It was great while it worked. I got 2 winters out of mine, then it developed a short and started tripping the breaker whenever I plugged it in. No obvious physical damage, but something is wrong internally. Far too expensive for something that only lasts two years.

No more ice!
This product solved my icy brick entrance walkways. Since relaying and sealing the brick walkway the early snow and then ice storms caused a buildup of slick ice. Purchasing and using the RHS snow melting mat melted and dried the walkway making it safe to traverse.

wire connector frayed in 3 months, so into the trash it goes
Don't buy this product, unless you're into duct-taping everything on every new product like this. I used this to perfection for 3 months, then the wires coming out the mat frayed and shorted out. Typical. Fortunately, I had it plugged into an exterior GFCI socket. The mat itself is bullet-proof, but instead of similarly installing heavy gauge black electrical sheathing or armoring, they simply put in something that looks like cheap Romex, and cannot withstand any flexing. Terrible. And of course, the return window on Amazon closed, so now this goes into the trash. Save your money, or buy one and commit to the duct-tape thing. I wish there was a law stating that anyone who designs or engineers a product must buy one and use it for a year under the conditions for which it was designed.
