A good product let down by poor packing.
The Zapper works great, very effective. Be prepared for the insects to loudly 'POPP!' and often with a bright flash, but you'll eventually, hopefully, get used to it. The one downside was how the item was packaged, in a shrink wrap style plastic bag, which offered no protection to the Zapper in it's thin cardboard box. This cardboard box did suffer a significant tear/puncture luckily piercing though into a void rather than hitting the Zapper. And the box was slightly crushed as well. Thanks to luck and only luck no damage was sustained. There needs better attention given to protective packaging when shipping in my opinion.

Essential summer kit – worth replacing each year
This is now an annual purchase for me, and honestly, I wouldn’t be without it. I live in a place where summer inevitably brings a wave of flies and the occasional mosquito, and this electric zapper handles them better than anything else I’ve tried — fast, clean, and effective. It’s lightweight but feels solid in the hand, and it holds a decent charge. I tend to leave it plugged in overnight every few days and haven’t had any issues with battery life through a typical summer. You’ll know when it’s fully charged because the LED light stops blinking, which is a simple but useful touch. One thing I’ve learned: even though it still “works” after a year, it’s noticeably less powerful compared to a brand-new one. The zap just isn’t as instant, and that slight delay makes a difference when you’re trying to deal with fast-moving pests. For that reason alone, I now treat it as a seasonal tool — worth refreshing each year to keep it effective. If you’ve never used one before, be warned: the zap sound is loud (oddly satisfying), and it will leave a small burn mark on the insect. Not a criticism, just something to expect. In short: if you’re fed up with chasing flies around with a tea towel, this is the upgrade you didn’t know you needed. Don’t wait until you’re already annoyed — just get one early in the season, and replace it annually.

Terrible idea. Macho. Ineffective
As you swat about your house with a tennis racket trying to miss your lampshades and houseplants, the Zapper may make contact with the object of your ire, but the standard British housefly will make the device buzz with your triumph and then fly off. It will take 3 or more hits to actually kill it. When entering full hunter mode in your kitchen you realise that the racket's round shape and thick edging makes it impossible to make contact with any insect. You can move all your kitchen appliances, and the bunch of herbs on your windowsill and the bugs will just learn to creep along the corners of the window frame to mock you. Even with the racket flat to the surface the fly underneath has enough room to wander about and treat the new environment as a safety protection device from any passing spiders (which this claims it will also kill). It will kill 80% of a cloud of midges or fruit flies as you open a compost or sit under a tree in the evening, and the other 20% will be assisted by the enthusiastic waft of the racket to their own freedom while their cousins are electrocuted. A citronella candle works just as well, though you do miss out on practising your serve! The night light works. When you hear that high-pitched whine lying in the pitch black cosiness of your bed, your enthusiasm for a solution to the pesky threat kicks in. You then wake yourself up thoroughly as you bounce around the room swishing your tennis racket across the bed and against the curtains which crackle and spit as the small fibres connect with the electric mesh. You'll need to be fully awake to avoid the light fittings, the vase of flowers the insects keep settling on, and the dogs. They also wake and join in, or run away from the crackles and bangs of 'fireworks' as you find the cobwebs in the dark. When you finally decide that the mosquito is now in another room, no doubt wafted there by the wind of your endless swipes, your bed will call you back. Then your dogs and your partner will need to be re-settled and kissed goodnight as your sweaty wide-awake and slightly frustrated self rejoins them. Or perhaps at this point you will instead both be involved in mopping up the spilled glass of water or reassembling the bedside clock.

Lifetime guarantee
This was excellent while it lasted. Now it's failed I have come back to order another but still weighing up the odds whether to go for same model or the competition! You do have to zap the stunned fly again to fully kill it depending on the type of fly killed. Worked very well on wasps. Being rechargeable was a big bonus for me. No fiddling round with batteries just plug in for an hour or so to my phone charging socket and good to go. Now, sadly the button has to be pressed very hard to power up and sometimes not even coming on. You swat a fly and it happily flies away as the power failed. Forget the lifetime guarantee, it's a con. Tried to contact the manufacturer to claim a replacement but no response. They're based in the US and I very much doubt their so called lifetime guarantee is even worth the paper is printed on, let alone for anyone in the UK. So if you're buying the zapper on that basis, forget it. Size is a plus, rechargeable is a plus, light seems worthless but might appeal to some evening swatters! Btw it lasted just over a year before it failed. ****Edit**** Didn't get any reply from the manufacturer details on the guarantee so contacted seller of this product. They responded very rapidly and were very helpful. I have just received an identical replacement of this item. Here's hoping it zaps thousands more flies like it's predecessor.

One hell of a Zapper. Works on kinda every bug you wanna kill, moquitos, wasps, flies etc.etc. Perfect with USB-charging instead of batteries.
