“You think I’m an idiot?” [Ray]
This 2011 fantasy sci-fi horror [aka: Super Hybrid, aka: Hunter] focuses on a malicious shape shifting car that devours its victims but when it is involved in an accident it is towed to a police precinct garage where they soon realise it’s not a standard car and it’s not long before it starts killing the mechanics as it tries to find a way to escape. If you expect this to be a ‘Christine’ or ‘Duel’ clone, it isn’t. For a $13,000,000 budget it’s got some good features like the ‘infra red’ type view from the car and is well filmed, maintaining a high pace throughout. Some of the gung ho rhetoric lets it down, but the acting is good overall and considering its set in a multi-level garage, this generally keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just pay attention to the explanations and it doesn't seem so ludicrous a concept, most critics don't seem to have listened. The single disc opens to 3 trailers before going to main menu offering play, scene selection and special features [which is only a single trailer! And don’t watch it till after you’ve seen the film].This has some tense moments and a good eerie sound track which adds to the atmosphere. It may lack gore and buckets of blood but it doesn’t need them and still has some jumpy moments and as a 15 rating this has to be a ***** on entertainment value.

Killer car? Just walk up the stairs
This film has to be taken as you find it. It's about a car that kills because its actually an alien life form that can change shape. It is explained in the script that its similar to a sea creature that can mimic its surroundings but its very daft indeed.Anyway, the car is in the garage for repair but it repairs itself and starts killing off the mechanics. There is enough to entertain over the 90 minutes but its not going to win any Oscars. There is a twist at the end after the car/alien has been destroyed. There was some character development between two of the characters but it goes nowhere and seems intrusive because you don't get a happy ending.Of course all these characters had to do was run up the stairs and they are safe. But I guess there would be no film if they did that!Extras: Trailer

Shame it was almost a good one
This film had the basics - hidden enemy in confined space which nobody can get out of. I particularly love that concept and the fact that the enemy in this case is operating cars which it can switch from. I also don't have a problem with the fact that, as one reviewer put it, there is a "girl" mechanic - My aunt and many other female soldiers and also the Queen herself are all qualified and superb mechanics, so they are out there. My problem with this film is that the actors don't gel at all, they just perform individually even when they are doing something as a group. It also took to long for those doubters to get that something was wrong, Maria for example when she was being screamed at down an intercom. It just isn't realistic when that happens. Also the actors' performances where a bit flat - it was as if they didn't believe in their characters. The whole thing was just a bit "off", enough for me not to have enjoyed it. Shame it came close to being a really good horror.

Anyone seen P2?
Similar set up, woman in a multi-story car park; in this case storage, unit cased by a killer- this time a car. Not unlike Christine... But if I say anymore it`ll spoil the story.. Somehow a trained military soldier has less savvy than the "girl" mechanic, but she must be tough as she rides a Harley!!! .. The lone street wise woman is getting a little worn these days in my opinion. The story holds up to a point but then drags to the mild twist at the finale.. A beer n snack film that good for a film binge..

Hybrid DVD
Would not play on either one of my DVD players. I have BluRay and regular DVD player. A waste of money. Will never order from this company again. Rating is zero since I did not see the movie.
