Quiet, Secure, and Rock-Solid — The Easiest Fix for Hitch Rattle
Quiet, Secure, and Rock-Solid — The Easiest Fix for Hitch Rattle The CZC AUTO Hitch Tightener is one of those small, inexpensive accessories that makes a huge difference. It completely eliminates the wobble, rattle, and clunking that happens with cargo carriers, bike racks, or hitch-mounted accessories. I installed mine in under five minutes using a ¾" socket wrench, and the difference was instant — no more shifting or metal-on-metal vibration, even over rough roads. The build quality is excellent for the price: a thick carbon steel U-bolt with a heavy powder-coated plate that feels solid and rust-resistant. It fits both 1.25" and 2" hitches, tightening snugly without scratching the receiver. Once torqued down, everything stays perfectly stable, even with a full load on a cargo tray or a two-bike rack. It’s also easy to reposition or remove when swapping between vehicles. The only minor caution is to watch clearance on low vehicles — if your hitch sits close to the ground, mount the clamp on top instead of below to avoid scraping. Bottom line: A cheap, heavy-duty fix for hitch noise and sway. Strong, simple, and works exactly as promised — the kind of upgrade you appreciate every time you drive.

Zero rattle.
Feels solid, took more wiggle out of my bike mount. I would have given 5* but I wish it came with 2 jam nuts to help make sure it won’t loosen.

Very well made worked perfectly
Good quality product. Worked very well. It impressed alot of people that have been having similar issues with the rattle. Just knowing it was there made me feel more secured too....I used this on a cargo carrier with about 400lbs in it on a suv at 80 mph at times no rattle and prevented any twisting of my racks arm from bumps on the road.

Great buy to secure your hitched goods!
I merged the before and after videos in one because I am only aloud to upload one video per review. The installation process was simple and pretty straightforward. Bought this to prevent the whole wiggle-rattle issues after my cargo rack was loaded and strapped down. I tested it around my street with a tote filled with camping gear and a full gas jug. No rattle or noises. I followed up with a test of a fully loaded 75 qt ice chest and again no noises. On the day of or camping trip, the first 10 miles or so of neighborhood driving (a couple of stops signs, turns, stop & go traffic) I drove with the windows down to see if any noises could be heard and we were golden! I stopped to check one more time prior to jumping on a 240 mile road trip and we were good to go. The hardware is fairly durable and seemed to be heavy duty. I installed my I bolt upside down just as a preference and ease of securing it. I tried it both way just to be safe and it worked for my. Hope this helps you out because I'm big on reading reviews of each product I purchase.

Really impressed, but be careful!
I bought and used this with the intent of stabilizing a hitch tray and bike rack that I attach to my travel trailer, and in the few weeks that I've had and used it, I'm extremely impressed with how well it works. Unfortunately, though, I think I just learned about something I hadn't previously known: "thread galling" – I'm probably going to have to replace the included u-bolt and nut as a result. I'd attached this with my tray and used it for a 2 week long, 2500mi road trip and I was amazed at how stable the tray was. I then swapped the tray for my bicycle rack for the next trip and was, again, really impressed with how well the stabilizer worked; I have a fairly cheap bicycle rack and its fit is really loose and floppy without it. When I went to detach this and the rack late yesterday afternoon, I noticed that one nut was giving a lot of resistance after about the 5th or 6th turn. Since I've over worked plenty of mis-seated threads in my life, I decided to reverse the direction several turns to make sure the nut was tracking the threads correctly and then tried to loosen it again. It kept getting tougher and tougher, so I took a break. When I tried again, it had fully ceased and it won't budge. After researching, all indications are that it likely galled, or "cold welded". The first two installs and uninstall were so smooth, that I strongly doubt it mis-threaded; I performed the first three install/uninstall activities late in the evening, whereas I did yesterday's removal while it was 98 degrees out and the hitch had been baking in the sun most of the afternoon. I was using a socket wrench, so I don't think I galled it from tool speed, but rather, it was already probably so hot that when I loosened the first side and moved on to the next, the bolt temp probably increased to the point that the next nut welded. I'd still highly recommend this stabilizer, but wanted to share this experience so that someone else won't have to learn the lesson I just did.
