Is any part of this poacher non-stick?

Accepted Answer

This is a stainless steel item, not non-stick by definition. You don't want a non-stick pan or poacher cups due to the non-stick chemicals that will erode over time and get in your food.

Question 2

Can someone please address whether the egg cups are large enough for jumbo size eggs. I don't want the contents spilling over onto the cup holder.

I just broke a Cherry Lane brand (sold in the northwest) jumbo egg into the cup and it fit fine with a slight amount of room available for an even larger egg.  The stainless steel cups clean easily and no teflon breakdown to deal with over time.  I use a thin spatula around the edges when necessary to loosen the white.  Drop a bit of butter into the cup while it is heating the water, drop in the raw egg and it will distribute the butter around; then it usually slides out easily when cooked.  Hope this helps.

To where should I fill the  water?

I cannot remember, but it said on the box to use like 3 cups of water or so.  What I do is I place the egg poachers in the pan and fill the water level until they start to float, then pour a tiny bit out until the poachers no longer float (as they are seated on the metal instead)  Make sense?  It's better to use too much water than not enough, because it protects your pan.  Obviously, the more water you have in there though, the longer it will take it to boil.  Probably what we SHOULD do is measure out the correct amount of water and then etch the pan with a line of our own.....  I hope this answers your question.  If not let me know.
