After approximately 8 months of sitting in the package, I decided to install fresh batteries. To my disappointment, the battery life indicators showed only 67% capacity upon fresh installation. This significant decrease in performance before even being used is concerning, especially for devices as critical as security system sensors. While the POWEROWL CR2450 batteries may offer satisfactory performance initially, the substantial decline in battery life due to prolonged storage raises serious doubts about their long-term reliability. Security system sensors require batteries that can maintain consistent power levels for extended periods, and the drop in capacity before use is unacceptable. Given this experience, I cannot recommend these batteries for critical applications like security systems. While they may work adequately for less demanding devices, the substantial decline in performance before use suggests that they may not be reliable for long-term use in security systems or other critical applications.
