Was very skeptical, but now I am super impressed with this mower and the battery tech. LOVE IT!
My mower: LM2135SP POWER+ Mower 21" Select Cut™ System with Touch Drive™ Self-Propelled Kit (7.5Ah Battery) It came with an extra FREE 5Ah battery when I bought it. I'm in the honeymoon phase, but this mower has been amazing! I am DEEPLY impressed with my EGO battery tools, and this is coming from a heavy skeptic and heavy pre-purchase researcher. I was turned off by the stupid, modern aesthetics of the EGO mowers, but compared to everything else on the market, the EGO mowers seemed to get the best reviews. I am just annoyed by the modern, crinkly design aesthetic. The mower *could* be a smooth turtle shell design, which would be amazingly easy to clean with a single wipe. Instead we've got a plastic shell that has infinite creases, slopes, flats, valleys, hard-to-reach areas and whatever. But I guess that's what people like these days. So I grabbed this deal (with the FREE extra 5Ah battery, and I am so glad that I did! Firstly, this mower is way lighter than I was expecting. It looks like a monster in the listing, but it's actually extremely light. Love the front and rear handles, great design! I am replacing a 30 year-old Black and Decker corded electric mower, and this new EGO mower is much lighter. And yes, my corded mower lasted me 30 years! I bought it in 1995. I'm not expecting the same from the EGO, but it is often true that "they don't make 'em like they used to". My lawn is about 3000 square feet and it has lots of obstacles and crinkles, but is generally flat. This mower has a self-propelled mode that is nice and easy to use, but I mostly don't need it. You can easily push or pull this mower with one hand. My grass is not "lush" and the cut with the stock blade setup is excellent to me. Also, I have always bagged my grass, but now I have decided to just use the side discharge chute and HOLY MOLY I cannot believe how well this mower mulches. The grass coming out of the chute is almost like a powder. I'm not joking. This mower has way more power than I was expecting! You can hear the grass being sliced by the fast moving blades as you go. The design of the grass side chute, though, is surprisingly lame. It just kind of wedges in position with the rear, spring-loaded door just kind of lopsidedly holding it in place. Still works though. Love the 4 position handle, and the grass cutting height adjustment is crazy easy to use... but it was also easy on my old corded mower. Secondly, I was able to mow my entire lawn, trim my entire lawn, and clean up with a blower with a SINGLE 7.5Ah battery that had two full bars left over when I finished. Astonishing. (yes, I also have the EGO trimmer/blower combo) I have large oak trees in my lawn, and I have to be sure now to clear the lawn of the twigs and such that fall from these trees. The EGO mower is light for a reason... it doesn't feel like it could withstand having twigs smashed around on the underside. If I didn't clear the debris, I would expect to have cracked and holey plastic around the blades. But this is all just speculation at the moment. I do kind of wish the blade area was made of metal.

Excellent through the first month
I bought this to replace a nearly 40-year-old Honda Harmony 216 which had an outstanding performer (I hadn't changed the oil in 15 years) but had some deferred maintenance liked a cracked gas tank, no self-propulsion, and bad wheels. When the wire to the blade broke, I decided to get an electric and chose the Ego because I have an Ego blower which has been a super useful tool. This mower is pretty light weight and much more maneuverable than the Honda. It's obviously quieter than any gas mower. Set up was pretty easy though no one in my family considers me handy. My mowing area is probably around 50 x 30 ft though the actual grassy area is smaller, having been reduced by years of California drought, gophers, and ground squirrels. The Ego can cut this area plus pick up lots of leaves on our patio and flagstones using one bar of the battery, i.e. it has nearly a full charge when I have finished. It does a much better job of picking up leaves on flat surfaces like the flagstones and the road than the Honda did. Our grass isn't growing at this time of year so it's difficult to fully evaluate the cutting ability. I bought the self-propelled model because at age 75 I was concerned about the weight, but the machine is very easy to push so I have stopped using self-propelled mode. I also note that the machine can be very fast in self-propelled mode and I advise turning the speed control down the first time and adjusting as needed. In retrospect, the self-propulsion and larger battery are likely overkill for my needs, but I guess the final verdict will have to wait until spring or summer.

Great Machine
When my gas-powered Toro died this spring, I chose to go electric. I did a lot of searching and comparison before deciding on this mower. I have a zoysia lawn which is very thick when growing. I also have a pool so I had to find a mower that would effectively bag the clippings. This mower seems a bit pricey but it was worth it. This unit has enough torque to get through the lawn with relative ease. I use the high-throw blade and all the clippings bag like my old gas mower. When the lawn is really thick, it will use all the battery power (but I have other Ego units) so there is no problem. I love this mower, no gas, no oil, no spark plug, no air filter, so much less maintenance. I also LOVE the fast charger.

First mow in the books!
Wow, as a gas mower user all my life (I'm 72), this thing kind of overwhelmed me! I quickly read through the booklet after registering it and awaaaay I went ....... literally! First; I immediately unpacked the charger and battery and got that going. The battery had 25%. That fully charged in about an hour. I then put the extra 5aH battery in to charge while I mowed my lawn. That was fully charged from 25% in about 30 minutes (or less!). The mower set up was a learn as you do it kind of thing for me. I'd watched several videos prior to this arriving so I had somewhat of an idea. The mower came with the high lift blade and mulcher blades already installed. I assembled the grass catcher bag and pulled the mulching plug out and attached the bag. (I know, you're not supposed to bag while mulching but not being familiar with how this will work out, I wanted to bag the front yard). It took me a minute to figure out the self propel system, setting the speed was really tricky for me. Got that figured out enough to get it to my starting point in the yard and began "running" behind the mower but it wasn't cutting! Back to my shop to read further in the booklet! Ha. Ok push the button on the panel while pulling back the "bale" ...... WHIRRRRRRR, whoa, keep that bale squeezed and push on the button (either side or both) and off I went. Waaaaay to fast so I rotated the speed adjustment dial back ....... too slow......... back up slowly until the run turned into a jog. pant, pant. Off I went. This thing blazed through my slightly overgrown grass without missing a beat. More speed adjustments (seemed nearly constant). What I noticed that I didn't like was that the self propel wheels are the rear rather than front. Coming to a corner or turning around meant releasing the handle buttons for the control, keep the bale depressed so the blade keeps going, tilt and turn then go again. If you release the bale and the blade stops, you have to push the button on the control panel while simultaneously squeezing the bale ....... hassle. With the drive wheels pushing rather than pulling, if you don't release the drive button(s), the mower will want to still go. Another "issue" is that the front end is very light not having a drive motor or set up there. I noticed that if I hit a bump it wanted to lift and missed mowing a small part of the lawn as the drive wheels were still pushing. I'm sure as I use this thing, I will get the hang of it and operating it will be second nature. Old dawgs just have a bit slower learning curve! All in all, I have to say that I AM IMPRESSED! No smell, no gas, no oil. I found it interesting that it still "sounded" like a mower! I guess that is just the blade zipping through the grass. As for the grass, my relatively smallish front yard filled the bag. Upon emptying it, I was intrigued by the tiny cut blades. My gas mower with a mulching blade never cut it that small. I can see how mulching without a bag would "fertilize" the lawn with these cut pieces. Oh, I should mention that the height adjustment offers several. I did my front yard on 2. This was too low. I moved the adjustment to 4 on the back and truly mulched that. It may have been too high. I will reset it to 3 for my lawn. Just so you know, I didn't see anything in the nice book about what is higher. I guess just moving the lever would have shown me but if you're a typical "guy", you want to experience the new toy quickly! Any way, the higher the number, the higher the cut height. Summary: This is a great mower. It's an adjustment from gas but that's the way the world is going, like it or not. The cost may be a bit higher than a similar quality gas mower but not much at the discounted price on Amazon. Why buy old technology?

HIGH GRASS NO PROBLEM | This Lawnmower ROCKS!
LM2135SP POWER+ Mower 21" Select Cut™ System with Touch Drive™ Self-Propelled Kit (7.5Ah Battery) It came with an extra FREE 5Ah battery. Okay, I have a vacation home that we visit every couple of weeks or so. I've been paying someone to cut the grass and edge there for a couple of years. I finally decided since I was paying for 2 houses every 2 weeks it would just make much more sense to purchase a mower I can throw in the back of my car (or my trunk) and take it with me to do the work myself. Obviously that means I had to go with an electric mower. I did plenty of research and landed on the eGo LM21355SP. What a GREAT decision. It's already paid for itself after just 5 months. It runs great it's maneuverable, it handles high grass (which was my biggest concern) and I can get the entire yard done on a single charge. It's lightweight so easy to throw in either the backseat (no oil, no gas) or in the trunk. Our vacation home is at the beach where EVERYTHING rusts so the heavy duty strong plastic material is a tremendous bonus! Being plastic was my second concern, turns out it's a REASON to BUY! This is hands down the best value for the money I have spent in years as a home owner. I'm now in control of when my yard gets cut and as you can see by the images provided this thing handles even grass I would never expect it to be able to handle! If you are on the fence... Just do it! Worth every penny and I wish I had purchased this beast sooner! Great job, batteries charge fast and provide the charge advertised. A little over 1 hour for the 7.5ah and a little over 45 minutes for the 5.0ah battery. Awesome mower! FIVE STARS and if I could give it more I would. Honest Review and purchased with my hard earned money, but already paid for itself!

Battery life and cut quality is excellent!
After using for one entire season so far so good on a 1 acre lawn. I have had no issues whatsoever with the cut or the battery life. I did a LOT of research before deciding on this mower. It seemed like the best value and "knock on wood" so far it has been. People complaining that it won't cut right are out there cutting wet grass or grass that is too tall... duh... PS, if you let your grass get stupid tall yeah you are going to have to cut it twice just like you have to do that with a gas mower too...

Makes mowing the lawn easy!
No electrical cord! Yeah! Cuts grass with ease. After charging the battery, I mowed a 40’ x 80’ lawn and still showed a full charge. It folds up easily and rolls into the shed to be stored in an upright position. You can adjust the speed when mowing to match your pace, or don’t even use the self propelled motor feature. It is easy to push. I love my first experience using this mower.

What a difference from gas!
I love this lawn mower. I bought it to replace my old honda easy start. Old reliable lost its title. The transmission was dead. And replacing it was going to be close to $200. So we made the choice to go on and buy this mower. The only thing I dislike so far is the power drive. It takes about 5 seconds to actually kick in. But once it's on, you're nearly running behind this mower. I like that you can adjust the speed of the mower without affecting the way it mows. The bagger works really well. It packs grass into it, like when I go to put it in my compost, it's hard to get it started because of how much it packs it. The bag isn't great quality, it developed a hole by the handle in the first season. I used it for bagging fallen leaves in the fall. I noticed the bag fills very fast with leaves. Use a tarp in the area you're clearing. Dump the bag onto the tarp. Once the tarp is full. Grab each corner and make it into a "bag" then drag it to your compost or bag it in lawn and leaf bags from there. The battery lasts me about half my acre property. But my yard isn't a rectangle. Anything but. It's hilly, oddly shaped. It has beds in the middle of the lawn. I took the manufacturers recommendation, and I mowed in strips. I found starting from the middle of the yard is the best way to tell what is cut and what is not. You can easily see where the last pass was. Just follow the path of the outer wheel and mow a turn around strip(or 2) so you're not fighting yourself at the end of every strip. This mower is LIGHT. I can push it by hand! In difficult spots you can easily turn it off by taking your hands off the controls and just pulling it out of the tricky situation. My Honda, wouldn't allow it to move if you didn't have the transmission engaged. The wheels would lock. Another incredible thing with electric mowers, you ran over something now it's making a weird noise. With gas you can't flip it over and check it out. Everyone tells you not to. Not so with electric. It makes a funny noise, turn it off and flip it right then and there, dislodge the branch or item and you're back to work. With the gas I had to somehow drag it to the garage, stuff a rag in it, flip a heavy machine over. I hated it. Took an hour to fix a simple jam. Also switching from a gas mower to electric, the sound is so different. It's quiet. I have social anxiety and dread mowing the lawn. The noise reduction made it a lot less intimidating. I like that you can store it on it's side too. It has a very useful phone holder for when you don't have pockets. It makes it easy to access and secure. The zipper makes it open very safely and my phone's never fallen out of it. I love this mower. I have 3 more batteries I keep charged up, and I only use 2 for my yard. I'm not sure what size the batteries are. I use them for my ego 18inch chainsaw and this mower. I thought this mower was supposed to have an aluminum deck but it seems to be plastic. Other than that , great tools so far. I highly recommend upgrading from gas to this mower.
