In 1968 the Beatles released Yellow Submarine, a pioneering animated film that brought many of their beloved songs and psychedelic visions to colorful life. Three decades later, McFarlane Toys has paired each cartoon-Beatle with another of the film's kaleidoscopic characters to create a series of authentic, collectible toy figures that pays loving tribute to the film. John, clad in striped, two-tone pants and waistcoat, is paired here with Jeremy Hillary Boob, the film's gnomish Nowhere Man. Each figure is articulated and hand-painted with McFarlane's trademark attention to detail. --Jerry McCulley

Beatle John - at a reasonable price
This is terrific figure! It's Beatle John - as he appears in the 'Yellow Submarine' animated film. As such, it's a cartoon caricature of Lennon, and really does resemble how the character appears in the movie. This figure stands approx. 8" tall. It's made from solid PVC, and is fantastically designed by McFarlane. It's one of a set. There are, in total, 9 available ... The main set includes: Paul with Glove & Love base; Paul with Captain Fred; Ringo with a Blue Meanie; George with the Yellow Submarine; and John with Jeremy. And there's also the Beatles in Sgt. Pepper garb: John with the Bulldog; Paul with the Sucking Monster; George with the Snapping Turk; and Ringo with the Apple Bonker. Each figure and their accessory looks excellent! These figures were originally released in the late 1990's (they're subsequently been re-issued in various combinations). As they're becomes rarer, their price has increased ... When initially released, I bought each figure for £9.99. As I write (2016), it's possible to find them at £30-35 each - which I consider reasonable. As this item is under £40 (including postage) so I've awarded 5 stars - I highly recommend it.
