The safe is a little on the heavy side. It is really well made. It took me a minute to figure out how to open the door. With the key you have to put it in turn it and then turn the keypad circle. I guess this a safety feature. It takes AA batteries and does suggest they are brand new. The last photo is where the batteries go. Slide it to the right, pull out the battery holder and when you put the slider back on, make sure you press the battery compartment down until you hear it lock into place. I can tell you; you have to charge it first. It comes with a default pin and two keys. I am terrible at remembering passwords the keys are great to have. The inside is really nice. I am so glad to be able to put my important paperwork and my late sister's jewelry. Because it firesafe and solid almost bullet proof, I feel good knowing it is safe. The safe is small enough to hide in my closet. It comes with two expander screws but I no clue what they are for. They are locked in the safe with my things. This is a secure, strong and well made safe.
