Organic Shaving Soap infused with Patchouli & Cedarwood | Create the Perfect Lather | Excellent for Silky Smooth Shaves | Hydrates and Shields, 50g (1.7oz)

I have been using this soap everyday for shaving. Here are my remarks: SOAP QUALITY/DESIGN : This is a really good quality shaving soap. The ingridient list is honestly great and free from unwanted chemicals. It is also organic and vegan so a good choice if you are inclined towards such products. The soap puck is quite hard which means it will last much longer than soft/creamier shaving soaps. The soap comes in a transparent tub like packaging which might look like glass but it is plastic making it convenient for storage and travel. SHAVING EXPERIENCE: This soap generates really rich, thick and slick lather. I used a romer 7 synthetic brush to swirl on the soap surface around 15-17 times and it gave me enough lather to cover 2 passes of shave with still enough lather left for another 2-3 passes as you can see in the attached image. The lather provided enough smoothness for my Romer 7 razor to glide through easily without any irritation, tugging, nicks or cuts. I have used Laser Ultra, Vi John and Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades with this soap and all the blades gave a good glide with this soap without any tugging. All in all, excellent shaving experience. POST SHAVE: My post shave experience was also great. I have a very dry skin on my face especially the cheeks but this soap did not leave my skin dry at all. It was moisurising enough to keep my face smooth post the shave before applying after shave. My face gets dry usually with creams but this soap gave me a very good post shave experience so thumbs up for that. FRAGRANCE: This soap has a pretty mild fragrance which lingers around the entire time you're shaving and also for quite some time near the shaving area after the shave. I am looking forward to seeing this soap by Satthwa in more scent profiles in the future and preferably in a bit stronger scent profile too. All in all, would definitely recommend you to try this soap out for yourselves and see. I loved the entire shaving experience and in no time this soap has replaced all my shaving creams.

Shave with cold water splash No pre-shave Used Yaqi SE razor head (medium aggressive to aggressive close comb) with Supermax diamond edge - excellent combination (for me). Note - first half - blade on its 6th use today. I have been using low blade feel razors for a month or two now. The low blade feel razors also tend to have a lot less chatter. The Yaqi SE is an excellent razor but the blade does not get torqued enough to eliminate the chatter. Also, it works better with the short chrome handle (by Romer 7). I used the long black one today (by Rubabmen). Disclaimer - the shaving soap was sent as a sample by Satthwa to review. Thank you kindly. Satthwa shaving soap (patchouli, cedarwood and definitely the spiciness of turmeric) applied using Pearl shaving brush (synthetic) - face lather Some thoughts: Packaging seems nice although I wish the container was larger. The puck is really hard, reminds me of shaving soaps by Rustic Art. A quick whiff from the dry puck - cedarwood and patchouli are heavily entwined and turmeric seems to be a base note (not too strong but offers spiciness). Lather - remember, this is hard soap - don't go overboard with a watery brush - tone it down. Hard soap offers big bubbles to start with and as you keep building it, the lather explodes beautifully. The suds were slick and the lather was even slicker. There is a definite residual slickness but the post shave moisturization could have been better. Check the pics. The scent notes - as you build the lather, the cedarwood takes a backseat and turmeric's spiciness comes to play while maintaining the ferny patchouli as a twin sibling. The woodiness offers a good base comfort (as a scent profile). Check the ingredients list. The scent profile post lather is not empowering but stays with you during the shave. It sticks to you and does spread in the bathroom/ shave area. Price - I agree that a hard soap can last three times longer than a crope or a soft soap. A humble request to the artisan, to consider toning down the price (for the 50 gm puck). First pass - with the grain Second pass - across the grain Alum (some feedback but nothing crazy, hint of a shave burn on one side - my one cheek is more sensitive than the other - so cheeky) Post shave included application of modified Botnik essentials after shave lotion (witch hazel, menthol and some mixed spiciness of wild stone - an excellent burn - yup - definitely a blade feel) A spicy shave!

Natural fragrance, means there is no artificial fragrance added. Good product. It’s Vegetarian. Size or quantity, for the price might mislead, will last longer and worth the price. If anyone wants to know the ingredients sharing below. Ingredients - Coconut Oil, Stearic Acid, Castor Oil, Sesame Oil, Kokum Butter, Karanja Oil, Purified Water, NaOH,* KOH, Neem CO2, Veg Glycerine, Patchouli Essential Oil, Cedarwood Essential Oil, Turmeric Essential Oil.

The exotic fragrance made me pick up this over the others I have tried. It smells awful, like some greasy oil and nowhere near the promise of cedarwood. The lather was not bad.

The soap has a good aroma and well packaged. It basically is packaged with a soap bowl which makes lathering easy, no requirement of a shaving bowl. Lathers well, but however doesn’t provide the necessary glide and lubrication as expected out of a premium product like Satthwa. Need to work on the moisturising aspect as it leaves the skin dry.

The first thing that stands out is the fragrance and it leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't call it pleasing (to me), it has a very earthy characteristic and not exactly something that would uplift your mood and make you feel refreshed during a shave. Some people do prefer inoffensive mild scents for their shaving soap, and for them, this would probably be a great pick. The fragrance is the only downside of this soap. That said, the performance of the soap was excellent, the lather was dense and volumnous with strong peaks. The slickness it provided was ample to aid the razor in gliding against the skin. This is a very hard soap, so it lasts almost 3x longer than softer soaps. Whipping up good lather is easy and takes just a few swirls on the soap. The packaging is excellent and feels high quality. All in all it is a good soap but as a wet shaver, while most soaps/creams on the market perform adequately, the fragrance is a big differentiating factor among different products, this soap unfortunately fails to impress with its fragrance. Considering the premium price, it competes with Trigodon and Pink Woolf which smell excellent. Otherwise, performance is at par with them if not better! I would highly recommend it to people just looking for performance out of a shaving soap or something that has a very inoffensive mild scent.

For It has lasted for more than 6 months, rich lather even with hard water. Softens the hair, comfortable shave. Would highly recommend it

This shaving soap works nice, the foam formation is quick and easy. No significant skin drying observed. Performance is great.

Great lather and smooth comfortable shave

Before shaving, I soak my badger hair brush in hot water for 10-15 minutes and bloom the shave soap for the same amount of time. I removed the excess water from my brush and pour out all but enough water to expose the ribs and bump in the bottom of my Timeless Razor Plastic Shaving Bowl. The lather produced from this shave soap is equivalent to foaming hand soap. The lather dissipates quickly and does very little to produce a smooth shave. After the first pass, the shave soap burns the skin and does not maintain a good lather in the bowl. The scent is strong, and if you do not cover the soap after it drys, your bathroom will smell just like it. I gave this soap two attempts with the same result. I will not be purchasing this shave soap again. I hoping to find a shave soap with all-natural ingredients that work, but this is not it.

Great lather. Slick feel. The fragrance is ok. You will notice the fragrance sneaking out after a few hours after shaving. I wouldn't hesitate to try the product in another fragrance.

Haven't used it yet, but was quite surprised how small it is.
