Great keyboard and best overall
A great laptop for me using Microsoft Word. Slim, metal finish with blue tint, feels more expensive, it was reasonably priced. Light weight and easy to carry. Screen is smallish or standard but I like it that way on a compact desk. Keyboard is good quality, with responsive keys for touch typing. Giving a creative flow. Keys also light which is a bonus. An extra touch is the touch pad, that includes a digital numeric display. This can be turned off to transform back to a normal touch pad. The screen clarity is sharp and bright with vivid colours . Sometime I forget it is a touch screen, but yes it is. I had on old hp laptop before this one, which was very good. This is a few leagues up again. Best I ever had. Worth stretching the budget! CR

For the price is a good Laptop
ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED UX3402VA. The laptop is well made and have a nice sleek design. Unfortunatelly after 2 weeks of use I had to send it back due to a faulty battery. I have bought another one hopping the battery would be fine this time. Out of the box the laptop was overheating just by browsing the internet. This was due to the all bloatware that Asus and Windows have pre-installed which were using high Ram and disc. I had to uninstall many useless apps, disable or set to manual many Windows and Asus processes and services in order for the computer to work properly. After doing this. The battery was lasting up to 8h and not overheating anymore. The screen is amazing, I love the colours but It would be nice if it was matt and not glossy in order to prevent reflections. The numberpad is quite useful and you can switch it on and off. The Wifi network adapter is not very good: inconsistent connection quality, weak signal strength, and occasional drops. The backlit keyboard is quite useful but it has lots of light bleeding which can be anoying. Overall is a nice computer but it needs lots of tunning for it to work as it should. For the price is a good Laptop Update: As I mention above I had to return the 1st Asus as the battery was faulty. I am very happy with the 2nd laptop I ordered. The battery last up to 10 h on energy saver. I ordered an anti-glare screen protector and what a difference!!. Now I can see the screen properly under bright light with no reflections. This laptop didn't have software bloatware as the other one. So I only had to dissable a couple of windows service processes. No overheating or other issues. Very happy customer

Functionality
I’ve been using the this laptop for less than 3months now mainly for work and all I can say is that this laptop is a good buy. I love how easy the keypad is while typing and the fact that I can easily use the laptop using my fingerprint to sign in. It is so sleek, love it!

Bargain at £519!!!!
I was using an older Zenbook 14 ux3402va (i5-1340p, with touchscreen) before this review and I can say that I am enjoying it so far, absolute bargain at £519!! - the price originally went from 650 to 600, I bought it and then a few hours later it went down to £519, Luckily Amazon fixed the price difference issue. Battery/performance - this is the main reason I upgraded to this laptop. The old one would use quite a lot of battery even in low performance tasks like google docs, and get hot on the bed. this laptop gets 1.5x-2.0x the battery and it doesn't get hot when I am watching films. The iGPU is also a massive step up, my old zenbook would lag randomly when opening tabs or watching simple youtube videos, so i would have to turn up the power profile, no issues like that here and the iGPU handles it well. the iGPU can also handle most newer games unlike the Iris Xe, it won't be anything close to a gaming laptop but you will be able to get at least 30fps if you turn some settings down. Screen - This screen has a 1200p resolution and a 60hz refresh rate, this is lower than my older 2023 zenbook and the resolution difference is noticable (note, I have very good vision, above 20/20) but I got used to it within a day of use. As for the refresh rate, the difference is very difficult to perceive to me, and I am used to refresh rates of 240hz, but the 90hz on the old zenbook and 60hz on this looks the same to me. Build - When you pick this laptop up it feels very thin and light, more so than the old zenbook, but it also feels much more sturdy, probably due to the laptop being more compact and having less empty space. I do however feel the hinge looks and feels a little more premium on the older zenbook, and this laptop also doesn't open with just one finger. Other - The speakers on this laptop are great and do the job, however the older ones are quite a bit better in my opinion. The older zenbook had very impactful bass, especially for suspenseful music in movies, was extremely clear at high volumes and was very loud. The newer zenbook feels like a step down, with even the speaker holes being smaller, but it is by no means bad. I really like the face unlock feature this newer zenbook has, there is also a feature in myasus that detects that you are in front of the laptop using Wi-Fi signals, turns on your laptop screen and it will automatically unlock when the face unlock detects your face. I am also a fan of the camera shutter function, it is a must in 2025 where everything and everyone is tracking and spying on everything you do. Overall feels like a very complete experience and is a good refinement of the older zenbook. Game FPS from some games I tried, resolutions and FPS might be low for PC gamers, but it is very playable if you have no other good options - Where winds meet - 1200p, Xess Performance, Low - 30-40 FPS in demanding outdoor areas, 50-60fps in underground areas. Oblivion remastered - 800p, low, Xess Balanced, 30-60fps Rust - 800p, low, 30-45fps Haven't had the time to test more. Just for reference, the older Iris Xe on the older zenbook would not get over 18fps with everything turned all the way down in where winds meet, but now it is playable with some play in the Xess profile I can use. Edit: I've just used this laptop to encode some videos, and boy is it a beast, it's probably more capable than my gaming rig, around 450 FPS on global quality preset of 7 in ffmpeg for AV1, if you want better quality, preset level of 1 will get about 200fps. I did a 1.2~gb 24 minute episode in about 3 minutes and it looked basically the same (was a 3d cartoon). This is a best in class hardware encoding machine!
