100% compatible with the Intel part AFAICT.I used this component to build a firewall/router with a PC and OpenWrt.It is forwarding packets at layer 2 at line rate.Make sure you are getting the full gen 3 x 8 bandwidth from the slot you use.My unit has a fan on the heatsink, but it is quiet.
