I bought this being skeptical as it was solar powered. This was very simple and easy to use the buttons were self explanatory, but i also cam with a help instruction book and power cable. We set it up turned it on Auto. With this feature it turns on and off on its own, more of a set it and forget it. After its first night went out and checked on it and had clearly attracted and kill LOTS of bugs. I think this is a great option to where you don't have to have cords running across you lawn, use if during camping or just saving $ on electricity. One concern I would say I have after having this for awhile would be the build up of bugs on the filament, but I will update this later if that is an issue.

This solar bug zapper is awesome! It works great for camping trips and also comes in super handy around the house or patio. It kills mosquitoes and other bugs quickly, and I love that it’s both portable and waterproof — easy to take anywhere. I bought one for inside my house and outside. It was the best decision ever, with a large mosquito population this year! It’s been very effective. You can use it inside and outside. The zap inside makes everyone jump, but it’s doing its job! Other than that you never hear any noise. It’s a little challenging to clean, you have to unscrew a few things, and also it needs to fully charge to get the best benefits from it. 4 out of 5 stars because the charge only lasts about 6-7 hours.

I got this to get rid of flies as it purports it does— well, it doesn’t and not sure how it even would. The flies are out in the daytime— that is when they’re annoying and there is nothing to be attracted to in the daylight—as you cannot even tell it’s lit up. I charged it then placed it outside and turned it on for several hours - hundreds of flies buzzing everywhere - and not even ONE zap. Total waste of $50–RETURNING. It shouldn’t claim to kill flies when flies are not even out at night— flies are annoying during the day not at night. I even tested it inside by shutting all the black out curtains and it did not attract the couple flies that are inside. ZERO zapping.

There are two different settings on this: auto and then constant on. I use the auto feature and so it turns on when the sun goes down. It works well and attract all kinds of bugs. The light is pretty bright, and works well to attract the bugs. The zap varies on the size of the bug that is attracted to it. It’s designed well and I love the relatively small size of it. It fits well in my back yard. I also love that it’s solar and I don’t have to plug it in. It has withstood rain and snow and wind. The wind where I live is no joke and has knocked it off a 3 ft perch. It has not broken and still works great. Will definitely be buying more to place around different parts of my yard.

This doesn't work during the day it turns itself off. And I don't think that the charge either with the cord or the solar charging lasts the entire night. It's very sad I will probably keep them, but I did buy another Brand that I'm hoping will stay on Day and night.
