It is great as a cold pack, but when I tried to use it as a hot pack it made my entire apartment smell like burnt plastic. It wasn't visibly melted that I could tell, but just to be on the safe side this is probably just going to be used as an ice pack instead of multi-purpose.It retained its coldness for quite a while (Upwards of 2 hours I think), which is refreshing as some of the others I have tried seem to get warm after a measly 15 minutes.It was really flexible and fit around my ankle nicely, it was also comfortable to lay it on with no sharp plastic bits jabbing at my skin.

This is an added item I sent in last month's care package to my grandmother. I got two so she would have one for cold and one for heat. It is working well for my grandmother's various aches and I don't have as much worry about the cold damaging her very delicate skin. Also, since it is little beads of gel (rather than the large, flat bag of gel she had) it is malleable right out of the freezer, and therfore it conforms better and more comfortably to where it is being applied. She said it reminds her of the ice packs at the hospital that are filled with crushed ice. I am supposing that is a good thing.

I got this pack while pregnant to help with my swollen ankles. I love that it is malleable right out of the freezer and soft enough that it wraps around my ankles without making them even more sore. It keeps cold for about 20 minutes, but it doesn't take long for it to get cold again after throwing it back in the freezer. The only cons that I could see were that it's a little bit smaller than I thought it would be and it gets this weird condensation on it so at first I thought it had popped. These aren't big issues for me, though, so I still give it five stars. It's one of the nicer ice packs that I've used.

It works well and is good for small areas like knees or ankles. It is also small enough to place on the back of your neck, and is fairly flexible even when frozen. I have not used it for a hot pack. It doesn't seem like it stays cold very long, maybe 20 or 30 minutes.

Like another reviewer stated, it's smaller than I thought it would be, but I like it anyway. I took a photo for this review comparing the ice pack to a typical mechanical pencil for size comparison. It's a little small, but it's great for headaches. I either freeze it, or I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and place it over my forehead. I'd buy it again in a larger size!

While I prefer Heat for sore areas, yet when I used this TheraPearl as a Cold Pack on a torn Rotator Cuff....It Proved to be a Great comfort!

I LOVE these. They make GREAT Cooler Packs as well as for injuries. They are more flexible than a lot of cooler packs...though obviously more expensive. They last a long time.

After having knee surgery I really wanted something that would be easy to use and that would stay on my knees. This does the job. I love the fact that it could be a cold pack but also when needed, it could be a hot pack as well! I have two of these at home but will be purchasing more in the future for other family members in my home!
