I'm a huge fan of the magnetic mazes to help kids with their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. This maze is made of wood with grooves for the beads to travel. The cover is plexiglas and keeps everything contained. This is a number/color activity as kiddos use the attached magnetic wand to move the color beads to the correct train car. Each car has a number and there are the same number of beads of the same color - so this is great activity to help kiddos with counting and color matching.The other side of the board has the alphabet (both capitals and small letters) carved in the board. A wood stylus is included so kids can trace the letters. The stylus ciips into the top of the board so it doesn't get lost. The direction to trace each letter is marked on the board, but if you've taught your students a different way, use a sharpie to cover over the lines with the correct direction.Both of the magnetic pens and the wood stylus are a great size for small hands. The stylus is shaped just like a pencil which helps provide practice for letter formation and writing. This maze set provides such a fun way for kiddos to learn!

This is another product I have ordered for an unadvertised demographic - adults who are slow learners but need something to capture their imagination. This is beautifully and carefully constructed and I see nothing at all that will prevent its being a welcome addition. Adults with cognitive problems sometimes require variety in tools they use, just as anyone else would, and these look like they will be a welcome addition to our tool "library."

kids love it. any very young kid with a fascination with trains will go ape nuts over thislots of possible guided activities to do with a small person here. colors, numbers, pick and move, add/subtract, etc.....you may have to buy two of these if the one kid won't share with the others. excellent value.
