HONG DIAN Hongdian M2 Black Forest Mini Fountain Pen, Fine Soft Nib & Sleek Shape Aluminium Short Pocket Travel Pen (Caramel Brown)

I ended up purchasing 3 of these Hongdian M2 fountain pens - in red, blue and army green. All write smoothly, consistently wet and are of great build quality. Never a dry start. They are shipped complete with an ink converter and cap clip unlike another brand, which I have, where not only is the bare pen more expensive, but the clip and converter are an extra expense. A stylish travel pen that is a pleasure to use.

I write alot for my job, and at home, so I decided to treat myself to a fountain pen. I did alot of research about the Hongdian M2 and heard and read nothing but good things. Decided to buy it, I went for the Forrest / Army green and it's a lovely colour. It feels nice in the hand posted and unposted when writing ass it's nicely weighted and balanced, it's convenient to have in your pocket as it's a nice compact size. I used Diamine ink and the converter was very easy to use, straight forward to fill, no mess. I've used it for writing, to sign things, and to sketch, and it performed well in all applications. I would happily recommend this pen to anyone, especially for the price, you'd pay alot more for less quality. I went for a fine nib and it's smooth and flows well, I would like to try a medium nib if I was to buy another one in a different colour, which I probably will, just because I really like this pen, and it would be nice to have a couple of them with different coloured inks in.

Nice looking pen in midnight blue, nice and portable, the fine nib is still quite a thick line so extra fine would have been better for me. Most things are actually good about this pen, just one caveat. Because it’s aluminium and smooth it was impossible to grip the pen, my fingers could not get a grip on the pen so I HAD to find a solution or the pen was not going to get used. Any thin rubber sleeve I tried to put on made the pen impossible to join together again. My eureka moment was putting double sided tape onto the bit where I grip the pen, this finally gave me something to hold on to properly and didn’t interfere with the screwing together of the pen when it’s unposted. Hopefully HONG DIAN can rectify their glaring manufacturing error in future and gnarl the grip so it can be held securely to write with. It is a good handy pocket fountain pen at a good price.

Absolutely superb pocket pen which honestly is better than my Kaweco's. Aluminium is standard for M2's but I liked the look of the Brass version. Being made of Brass makes it heavier but coupled with the small size gives the pen a solid, "dense" feeling in the hand which is very satisfying. Only & a quarter turns to uncap which is excellent for a pocket pen. The spring clips main function is to provide a roll stop, the Kaweco's don't need this due to body shape. Does work OK but it grip isn't super tight. Of no concern for me as I never added a clip to my Kaweco's due to their small size. The nib is excellent, another Chinese "Knott" engraved nib, very smooth and wet when writing. An interesting observation is that Hongdian didn't just produce a Brass version of the M2 as an exact duplicate of the Aluminium M2's. Brass is significantly heavier, it looks as if it was produced by machining bar stock, and posting the pen, which as with the Kaweco, you need to do, would make the pen unbalanced. However, they made the Brass version so that it posts more deeply on the body and this adjusts the balance point making the pen very comfortable to use. An attention to detail that should be commended.

At first, this is meant to be my replacement pen for my scrivenir pen which was damaged and I would get this pen for the time being, but honestly I'm so impressed on the quality of the nib on top of the fact that it's so lightweight, it looks great and it feels great!! The nib is also a bit flexible so is honestly a really good pen. Good for gifting, and it doesn't smudge that much

This is such a nice pen to write with, it has quickly become my first choice to use. The fine nib is ideal for neat and clear writing. It's smooth on the paper but has just enough friction that it's easy to control. It's well made in metal which seems to be aluminium. It had a smooth surface, but the flare at the bottom is enough to stop fingers slipping onto the nib. The long cap is screwed on, and unscrews with a satisfying finger spin. It posts securely - and given the short size of the pen, it needs to be posted for comfortable use, for my big hands anyway. The clip is robust with a spring mechanism, and holds the pen securely in a shirt pocket. All in all, this is a lovely pen. I have several other fountain pens to compare it to as well, up to several times the price. I liked this one so much, I bought another in a different colour.

This is a great little pen! I have really enjoyed writing with it. I have used this pen every day for two weeks now. I am a pastor and often handwrite my notes or sermons. I have probably written with this pen for 8 to 10 hours. It is very smooth and has a high-end feel at a reasonable price. It is well-balanced and fits well in a medium-sized hand. If you have large hands, this may not be the pen for you, unless you prefer a small pen for writing. The green finish is nice and looks to be durable; only time will tell. At this point, it was well worth the money.

This looks great in the grey colour. It's a small pocket pen and does have a reasonable ink capacity as the converter is quite wide. Very well made and finished. The grip section is slim and a bit slick so in my medium size hand I would have preferred it to be either wider or textured. The clip is excellent. I have to use it posted as it's only 100mm long without the cap Basically it's a good looking pen that writes really well. The "fine" nib writes more like a medium.

Ammetto di non avere molta esperienza con le penne stilografiche, il mio metro di paragone è una Lamy Safari in mio possesso. Molto bella esteticamente, pulita, elegante. La clip sembra solida, anche le guarnizioni e le filettature sembrano ben fatte. E' incluso solo il converter, senza cartucce di inchiostro proprietarie. Tenetelo a mente se non avete dell'inchiostro a casa per caricare il converter. Il converter è di dimensioni ridotte, ma non si poteva fare altrimenti viste le misure di questa mini penna! Passando a come scrive: per il prezzo pagato non ci si puo' lamentare. Fluida, non gratta e non richiede pressione. Inchiostro rilasciato in modo uniforme. A parità di prezzo, però, si vede come la Lamy Safari sia un prodotto di qualità superiore, garantendo una scrittura più fluida. Se vi serve una stilografica da portare appresso, piccola e con cappuccio a vite, secondo me questa è un'ottima scelta.

El material es excelente de muy buena calidad amo el tamaño ya que lo mentía mi bolsa y así la uso cuando la necesito 10/10

L’ho comprata perché ho visto delle recensioni positive ma la trovo pessima, perde inchiostro mentre si scrive non scorre bene sul foglio, pessimo acquisto

M2 compacte superdegelijke pen. Fine nib schrijft zeer degelijk, nat en zonder onderbreking. Ideaal met Hondian inkt. Voor elke kleur broek heb ik een passende M2. En zelfs mijn tienerzoon viel als een blok voor dit pentype.
