This R2-D2 is a fantastic set that hits the sweet spot between being detailed enough to display and still fun to build. At around 24cm tall it is smaller than the UCS version but still feels solid and well put together. The build experience is smooth and varied, with clever techniques used to shape the dome and body. It never feels repetitive and the end result captures R2’s look really well. The set includes features you would expect like the rotating head, the third leg that can be deployed, and a couple of hidden tools. These little touches give it character and make it more interactive than just a static model. It comes with a printed anniversary plaque and a small display stand for the included R2-D2 minifigure which rounds the set off nicely. On display it looks fantastic. The proportions are spot on and the scale works well for a desk or shelf without taking up too much room. The only slight downside is the use of a few stickers which could have been printed pieces, but that is a minor issue. Overall this is excellent value. It looks great alongside other Star Wars sets, it is enjoyable to build and it feels like a proper collector’s piece without the cost of the larger version. A must for LEGO Star Wars fans.

R2D2 lego model is absolutely fantastic. I bought this for my son in law’s 40th birthday & he absolutely loves it. Couldn’t have found a better gift for him. Would definitely recommend this for a star wars fanatic!

Really great set for displaying especially if you’ve got C3-PO as they go great together. I got it for a lot cheaper than on the official lego store so great for value. Overall brilliant set and would definitely recommend.

Great building experience and perfect to build together. With the LEGO app you can work on two different steps at the same time and bring your parts together. Looks great displayed and would make a great gift. Plenty of detail in the model and doesn’t feel flimsy if you wanted to play with it once built.

Came well packaged and undamaged,set was a fun build and looks fantastic displayed.

This was bought as a Xmas present for my grandson. He seemed very pleased with it and as far as I know has started to construct it? Hopefully all the parts are in the box!

The box was bigger than I thought which is great because I want R2-D2 to be as big as possible. I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend who enjoys LEGO every so often but she also loves R2-D2. There is a booklet with so many instructions which is great. R2-D2 is going to look amazing when he’s built. You can model him into different poses to play with him. My girlfriend is currently building it and it’s very simple to follow and is thoroughly enjoying it.
