Manuelles objektiv, starke Preis-Leistung

Too good to be true?
I had read some reviews of TTArtisan manual lenses and they seemed like a great deal. I have a Sony Nex 5 camera with the standard kit lens, I wanted a simple every day prime for taking family photos and street photography. This fits the bill perfectly and the vibe takes me back to my old film SLR camera given the manual focus markings on the lens. It is not as quick and modern auto-focus but can be very rewarding to to use. The build is shockingly good quality for the price, it is all metal and the focus/apature rings are smooth and solid. I can't fault it at all. It is also very nicely sized meaning I can easily put the camera into a coat pocket, which is great for days out with the family for for street photography where you don't want to be seen lugging around a giant lens. The image quality is good enough, if you are looking at buying this you are probably a hobbyist rather than a professional and given that you will likely be more limited by your own skill than by the limitations of the lens. I am saving up for a more expensive zoom lens but until that time I am happy to keep this on the camera rather than the kit lens as an everyday or travel lens.

Returned due to difficult to attach and detach
The lens is so hard to attach and detach that I fear doing so risks damaging the camera body. I will therefore return the lens ... and cannot recommend anyone buying it. Too bad, as I was really looking forward to using this compact lens for street photography. Note that I had the same issue when I first bought the lens a year ago. This with two copies (the purchsed lense and a replacement lens). I then contacted TTArtisan regarding the issue, and hoped that they would have made design changes to ensure compatibility with the Sony E-mount ... but apparently not. As three out of three received lenses have the same issue (with one year gap), this most probably isn't a quality control issue but rather a design issue. By the way, all my Sony lenses attach and detach smoothly without needing to apply any force.
