Does it block out sun

Hi there. The BabyWearing lightweight raincover is rain-proof and wind-proof. The fabric is very lightweight like a rain mac so yes it does provide shade. It gives the same level of sun protection as a rain mac (although as it isn't officially a sun product, so we haven't had it UV tested). All the best from BundleBean

Is this fleece lined?

No, this is the un-lined lightweight version. There is a fleece lined version too.

Is it suitable for heavy rain?

I've worn it when caught in heavy showers and it's worked well to get home keeping baby dry. It's like a light raincoat fabric not a heavy waterproof so I don't think it would be great for long periods of heavy rain.

Does it work on carriers where your baby is facing outward?

Yes. The hood is detachable. So perfect for forward facing too.
