I really have no point of reference since this is my only moisture meter, but I wandered around the house with this thing, testing a bunch of walls and even my cello! Glad to know my cello is at 0% moisture! I feel like this is a handy tool to make sure you don't have a moisture turning to mold situation. Usually by the time you have mold, it's already pretty far deep/gone/a big issue. So this is good for prevention.It's easy enough to use. You just need to open up the back and slip in 3 AAA batteries and you're good to go. I think it's great to test where your possible problem areas are and go from there.And while I have no point of reference, I would say that the readings seem accurate to me, based on what I know about that particular space, etc. It did vary and seemed pretty sensitive.

This moisture meter works much better than I was expecting. The instruction manual is written reasonably well and should be easy to follow. You’ll want to hang on to the sheet that has the wood hardness index in it as you’ll need to input the numbers if you want accurate readings.The screen, although it doesn’t look particularly great at first glance, once the device is turned on it’s easy to read, even in the dark.I’d say that this moisture meter is quite good and even though I’ve got no way to test its accuracy, it definitely will give a good idea of the moisture content. I recommend it.
