LAKMÉ K.Beauty Top-Ten Styling Balm, 5.1 fl oz

it makes my hair so smooth. My hairdresser used it on me and I just loved it so I bought some online because she no longer carries this product.

This Top-Ten hair balm isn't quite what I expected. From the description and pictures, I figured this product was primarily geared toward men, although some the listed benefits seemed as if they would be nice for just about anybody. In any event, I ordered it for my husband. And he doesn't like it one bit. Mostly due to the added fragrance, but it also doesn't seem to do much for this thick, coarse hair. So now, it is mine... The description mentions that this line from LAKME Beauty/K. Beauty offers a range of two products. A range of 2? Some range. I assume there are other product lines, although I don't know as this brand is new to me. In addition, the description also mentions that this balm offers a range of holds: 0, which I assume means no hold at all. 1, for a light, flexible hold. 2, for a medium hold + manageability. 3, for a strong, lasting hold. What? It doesn't really seem possible for a single product to offer all of these different holds, even if building it up with several applications. As it turns out, the product I received indicates that it is 0 hold right on the label, something that I didn't notice when placing my order. On my baby-fine hair, this balm does seem to offer a very light hold; it is not greasy, and I only need a pea-sized amount. It doesn't weigh my hair down, and leaves it soft, shiny and more manageable. I don't have a problem with frizz, so I can't comment on that aspect. I have found that using even a smidgeon too much of this balm and not working it in well and then brushing thoroughly, leaves a sort of crinkly texture in my hair. I find the fragrance to be fairly strong initially, but it does seem to subside fairly quickly and I don't notice it after the first hour or so. It is a kind of flowery/musky scent, and is not unpleasant but I would definitely prefer a hair product with no added parfum (this ingredient is in the first five listed). I'm not sure why this brand lists K.Beauty after the LAKME name. I thought K beauty referred to skin and hair-care products made in South Korea. But this product is made in Spain. I would have liked to see the full list of ingredients shown in the product description so I don't have to search for this information online or rely on the possibility that other reviewers have provided it. The product is housed in a sturdy flexible plastic tube with a threaded cap. I do think a cap with a lift-up cap would have been a nice idea. The balm is a translucent beige(y)-white and is creamy but not thick or heavy. The tube holds a little over 5 ounces, which will likely last me for quite a while. The product arrived with no box but was properly sealed. While I like the hair balm, I have many other products that do the same thing for a lot less. I would say that the ingredients don't really seem to justify the high price so I am not likely to buy this product again.

A little goes a long way. You do not have to use a lot to get the needed benefit. Easy to use and apply. This product controls the frizz and make the hair feel super smooth and soft. I ordered this as a heat protector product and I use this when I am using the flat iron or blow dryer. I feel like it protects the hair well against heat and keeps the hair soft and smooth. I have not used this when curling my hair because I rarely curl my hair, but I would say it would work just as well as when I am using the flat iron. This product is a little pricey, but it is worth the price. Like I said in the beginning, a little goes a long way so you can use the same bottle for a while without having to purchase more. Highly recommend this product.

Good and does its job. Not a one and done. I have 3B/3C curly hair and this is a good leave in conditioner. It makes my hair soft and shiny, but only controls frizz for 1 to maybe 2 days and by 2 days it's wild, any days past that and it's gone. I do still have to use a product with some hold in it as well, I think this product would be better with some kind of hold factor. A little bit of this does go a long way, a nickel to a quarter size squeeze does it for me (my hair is a little past my shoulders) so you get a reasonable amount in the tube. The scent is quite strong but it's nice enough, floral I think. If strong scents bother you, stay away, although it doesn't stay strong for long. This product does not weigh down my hair, it's fairly light, that's not really a pro or con for me, a little weight to my product is preferred, but since I have to use another styling product I get it there. I do not think this product is a good value. I think this is too expensive and while I do like it well enough, I can't recommend it at salon prices. I have used products at 1/4 the price that give very similar results.

I don’t usually flat iron or blow dry my hair so it took me awhile to try this product but I really love it. I expected it would put do much without super-styling but I was wrong. I add about a blueberry-size drop to each half of my hair and comb through after washing when my hair is mostly dry and it immediately makes it feel softer, more slick and less frizzy. It does make my long hair feel less dry and a little shiny. The scent is really nice, it’s a perfume-type scent that seems strong at first but it quickly dissipates into my hair and turns into a softer scent (probably because I just use a little of the product.) This bottle is more expensive than I’d usually spend on a single hair product but a little goes a long way and this bottle will last me forever as I only wash my hair 1-2 times per week. There are a few expensive hair products that I find worthwhile and keep buying and this might make its way into that list.

Verdict: The LAKMÉ K.Beauty Top-Ten Hair Styling Balm delivers soft, shiny hair with reduced frizz (day one ✨), but its ingredient list is hard to find 🕵️‍♀️ and it offers no hold 0️⃣. At $50 💸, the results don’t quite justify the cost, making it tough to fully recommend.

This product seems to be marketed toward men, but as a woman, I’ve used it and really enjoyed the benefits of the styling balm. My hair felt so soft after using it, and the scent is amazing much better than I expected. It didn’t make my hair feel sticky or weighed down, and it wasn’t gummy on my hands after applying it. The quality feels really good, and it gives my hair a nice, finished look. Even my husband wanted to use some. I really like the results, and a little bit goes a long way with this product.
