Review: Great upgrade that works as I wanted after pairing my a in-wall humidity switch - Super quite compared to my old unit in place which was noisy, Installation was not that easy if you have space constranints but made it work other wise a great product, I paired it with auto turn on switch.... I wonder if I can pair it with in-wall humidity sensor switch without builtin humidity sensor so it turns on and off based on humidity in the bathroom. THe built in humidity sensor seem to adjust airflow based on the himidity but if you want to automatically turn on/off based on humidity you'll have to do that with an external wall mounted switch.....which is what I have setup I paired this exhaust with Lutron Decore In-wall humidity sensor switch so It turns on/off based on the humidity in the bathroom and the airflow fan speed is regulated by the inbuilt humidity sensor...not ideal but works almost as intended.
Review: If you want a dry bathroom, this might be the best option you'll find. - This is a two month post-purchase review. If you don't want to read my ramblings on this... it's a terrific fan! This was purchase for post construction and where was no fan in the bathroom. I have two teenagers (I also live in Florida) so the bathroom was beginning to take on some rather swampy characteristics that required bleach, kilz and new paint. I decided that i would use the humidity sensors AND hook the manual on/off switch. This has been a great solution for us anyhow. The fan is quiet and moves a LOT of air without making a lot of noise. The instructions did't seem too bad to me and I've never installed an exhaust fan. I did discover that when they build houses they will run the romex with as little slack as possible, so if this is a new install and you are splicing into an existing circuit like I did... get yourself two junction boxes at the home improvement store. The install didn't seem too bad to me. The fan is great, the bathroom mirrors don't get foggy or don't stay that way for long. I could question that the fan might seem to run longer than it needs to, but of the bathroom stays dry who am I to complain? When we redo the master bath it's getting a Panasonic fan with the humidity sensor as well.

**Q: What size duct does this fan require? 4"?**
A: 4".

**Q: I’m replacing existing fan and I don’t have attic accessed. Can I still install this fan?**
A: Yes I think so.  You just take down your existing exhaust fan and install the new one.  I think you have to have a fan exhaust already but not sure.  My contractor did it

**Q: The instruction manual does not state a specific duct length limitation. My question is, will this fan push up to 25 feet of straight length?**
A: The FV-0510VSC1 with 25 feet of straight ducting, smooth with no bends, and rigid 4” ducting would have an effective CFM of 90-95 if the air volume is set to 100cfm. If the bathroom is 90 square-feet or less with an 8-foot ceiling, then this should be adequate. If the bathroom is larger, a larger fan, perhaps using 6” ducting, would be required.

**Q: If I only have a white, black, & grounding wire coming from my switch, what should I do with the red wires from the fan?**
A: Per Panasonic, install a wire nut on each of the red wires to isolate any bare wire from touching the metal housing and shorting out the unit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We Soooooo Needed This . . . !

Having moved into a 200 year-old house with a family of nine with one shower . . . and no vent fan . . . well, we have some mildew growing on the ceiling and window. Can clean that up, now, and repaint the ceiling since we installed this Panasonic ceiling vent fan =). Works great, and is nice and quiet! Installation was easily done by hubby. Since we had limited space in the wall for the electrical switch, we did not hook up the humidity sensor that this model has (much to my chagrin). A remodel down the road is planned for that bathroom, so at that point we will revisit hooking up that very cool feature. UPDATE: Nearly a year of heavy use and we still LOVE this fan! I painted the bathroom ceiling last winter (mildew killing primer and then regular ol' ceiling paint), and the ceiling is still perfect - NO recurrence of ANY mildew at all. The fan works great, even with the many showers taken in that bathroom. Highly recommended!
