I purchased this inflatable dog donut collar the day after my 20-pound Chihuahua-Pug mix had bladder surgery because the plastic cone the vet sent her home with was making her miserable. She couldn’t comfortably eat, drink, or rest, and she just didn’t seem like herself. My daughter suggested trying a dog donut collar, and I’m so glad I listened. As soon as I replaced the cone with this one, it was like my dog’s personality came back. She was much happier, more relaxed, and able to move around comfortably. She could finally lie down without struggling and even used the donut as a little pillow while she rested. I did let a small amount of air out because it felt a little bulky at first, and after that it was perfect. I also love that the cover is removable and washable, which is a huge plus after surgery. Another thoughtful feature is the built-in loops that allow you to thread your dog’s regular collar through for a more secure fit. I’m still figuring out the best adjustment because she managed to slip it off once while I was at work, so it was definitely a little too loose. The quality is excellent, it’s very easy to use, and it’s something I’ll keep on hand for any future surgeries or injuries. For reference, my dog is a 20-pound Chihuahua-Pug mix, and the medium fit her perfectly. I highly recommend this collar if you’re looking for a much more comfortable alternative to the traditional plastic cone.

This was a game changer. After we brought our Australian Shepherd home from her spay, she would just stand perfectly still for a hour at time with her head facing the wall or looking the floor. She couldn’t figure out how to get around and was completely disoriented. After 3 days we got this. The MOMENT we put it on her she was back to her old self - wagging her body and running around (it’s remarkable what a little peripheral vision will do for you). Didn’t get all slobbery like the long cone, so it also didn’t smell either. Seemed much more comfy for sleeping, as she had a built in pillow around her head and took to taking naps everywhere (which is the second picture - she took naps frequently in the weirdest places, so it must have been comfortable). I will say she still needed a little help to eat (She could reach her food fine, but I think it must have felt funny to lean down and try to swallow with this on, so we still held her food up for her). Weirdly, she asked for it back (in her own doggie way) when we took it off, and kept going back to it on the table and whining once we removed it. Didn’t pop or have any issues - and I only needed to reinflate it once in the 10 days (when I noticed she could reach her back-side again when it went down a little bit - and I think that’s possibly because I didn’t secure it well enough the first time). She was never able to get out of it once, and it did its job and kept her from licking. We needed the large for our medium size Austrailian Shepherd - so definitely go by the listed measurements (which were accurate) and not by what you’re guesstimating based on your breed (because I would have guessed smaller). This was a life saver for us - and it’s so relatively inexpensive. No damage after 10 days of use - still in great shape, so we can use for the next pup!

omg buzzy loves his cone. its like a plane neck pillow for him . sometimes he doesn't want me to take it off. really effective he can't lick his wounds with it on ! size was good weighs 45 lbs husky mix we got L. easy to put on and take off. so soft and comfy !

I bought this inflatable collar because my dog was constantly scratching one ear, and I needed something that would prevent him from reaching it. The collar completely stopped him from scratching the area while he was wearing it. It was easy to inflate and put on, and the fit was perfect. He could still sleep, eat, drink, and walk around the house comfortably. The soft inflatable design was much easier for him to tolerate than a bulky cone. The only downside is that it was also fairly easy for him to take off, so I had to check it occasionally. Other than that, it worked exactly as I needed and kept him comfortable while protecting his ear.

Edit: I have found deflating the cone slightly helps close the gap so the protruding piece can be upwards and away from his body while closing the gap where the strap is. My dog is longer than avg but still a small sized dog weighing 10lbs. It fits fine, inflates + deflates fast but my only gripe would be the plastic piece to inflate sticks out. I can’t close the cone all the way so the cone is at an angle to both avoid the protruding plastic piece from bothering his throat/chin (depending on how you flip it) while also ensuring he doesn't have the ability from gap parallel from the piece to lick his sutures. It’s great as a cone alternative because he can drink water comfortably and grab his toy but the plastic piece is what makes it a nuisance and uncomfortable for my dog. I think in my case a size up or just something else would be better.
