Excellent camera
Bought this to replace a different, cheaper camera that unfortunately malfunctioned during the heatwave in UK. This camera is more of an endurance camera which will function at higher temperatures. We also bought an endurance sd card to go in it. Very easy to fix up on our outside front wall and very easy to get the app and pair the camera. It is working perfectly. The images are clear and well defined. The lighting is perfect, even at night. Te motion detector is incredibly sensitive so we’ve reduced ours to about halfway on the setting. Excellent value for money.

Great picture quality and no cloud subscription need when using a memory card.
Tapo C120 2K 4MP Wifi Outdoor Camera is compact, very easy to install and picked up wifi without any problems. Works well on the Garage to keep an eye on the car and the drive way. Picture quality is excellent, it is suitable for outdoor use and with an extender in the garage wifi is showing excellent quality outdoors. Keeps recording whilst detecting movement. Don't need to pay for the cloud. I am recording onto a memory card. Overall I am very impressed with the Outdoor camera.

Freed from Ring
I’m another long term Ring customer moving away from the company due to their subscription costs. A direct comparison isn’t really fair, as I’ll explain, so I’ll review this camera for what it is - but I will also make some comparisons to the Ring camera it is replacing.I picked this camera up for less than £30. It is replacing a Ring Stick Up Cam Elite that cost £180 (although I paid £120 on offer). Out of the box, the C120 is a compact little thing, not too light, but not heavy either. Setup was easy…well, eventually. Although this is an outdoor capable camera, I am only using it indoors. It doesn’t really strike me as sturdy enough for prolonged outdoor use but I can’t really comment on that.Bad StuffI’ll get the bad stuff out the way first..The main reason I’ve deducted one star is to do with the power cable. I’d read other reviews that mentioned problems with this so I wasn’t too thrown when it wouldn’t power up. I turned the USB-C head round the other way and then it powered on. But there were still issues as the connection isn’t secure and even without moving the cable at all, it kept dropping the power connection. So I swapped to another cable and all was fine. However, the other cable is sturdy and that exposed the other slight issue. The stand is adjustable in loads of directions. A stiffer, heavier cable forces the camera out of position. Because the camera is quite light, it’s also not that stable in freestanding mode.Better StuffJust does what you want it to do with little fuss. Setup is easy. The daylight image is decent. Each mode of low light capability is also really good. It has some smart stuff (identification of people, pets etc) but I really won’t have a use for that. Responds fairly quickly to the app. Isn’t dependant on subscription.Comparing to RingThis is largely specific to the Ring camera I have and mentioned above. If you are replacing a Ring camera, some of this might not apply to yours. I actually prefer a lot about the Ring camera.* I like the look and build quality of it more than the Tapo.* The daytime image quality on the Ring is only 1080P but is a more natural image. It is less crisp but has lower blocky artefacts than the Tapo.* The Tapo’s low light performance is far superior though.* The field of view (FOV) is significantly better on the Ring, both horizontally and vertically. Realistically I’d need 2 of this Tapo camera to properly cover the same area that the Ring camera does* The app experience is very similar between the two, responsiveness is similar too.I would have happily stuck with Ring if it weren’t for their subscription greediness. I have a Ring Doorbell Pro too, and paying for subscription for them was now £50 per camera. I bought this Tapo Camera, a Tapo Doorbell Camera, one of their Hubs and a 512gb microSD card for storage for £170, as my Ring Protect was due to renew at £100 soon. So, in less than two years I’ll be saving based on Ring Protect costs alone. I’ll be honest, I was originally a little disappointed in this Tapo camera when comparing it to my 6-year-old Ring camera but the point is that it is perfectly good enough for what I need and frees me from Ring’s inflated subscription costs (which, over 6 years must total a few hundred quid). It is also unfair to directly compare the two cameras. One was £28, the other £120 - yet the difference between them is not that great. Really, the biggest let down is the horizontal FOV, but I could but two of the Tapo and it still not break the bank.SummaryThis is a perfectly good camera and a bargain at the price. A worth option to free yourself from Ring.

Great camera.
Great little camera. The Tapo app and whole ecosystem is brilliant in my opinion. Subscription and ad free - works really well with an SD card. An absolute breeze to set up - with the adhesive pad and magnetic base, I got this up and running and installed in position in under 2 minutes. The Image quality is great and the lights are a great addition to capture even better quality footage at night. But even without the lights, the night vision quality is really very good and far better than the Yi/Kami camera I replaced with this.Although this is an outdoor camera, I've used it indoors as I think it looks nicer than a lot of the indoor cameras you can get. This is small and can fit really snugly into the corner of the ceiling. You can manipulate the bracket into just about any angle and the camera view has the option to invert it, so you can set it up either way up. It comes with a really good length cable so you can run it quite a distance from the power supply if needed.

Excellent value great security camera.
Excellent great value security camera! Easy to set up, comes with everything you need to mount it be it screwed to the wall or stuck on. Day and night vision are both excellent with a great zoom. Highly recommend for all.

Outstanding cameras
Got to say these Tapo cameras are excellent. I have 8 now, some indoor as well as outdoor. The picture quality is first class and the app works very well. All in all a 100% feedback to an outstanding company. This is a honest feedback due to great cameras, nothing else.

Security that is not that secure
Overall this camera is a great camera for resolution and does what it says on the tin from that stand point of which as always i am very happy with Tapo Cameras.I love the size of it fits in your hand and discreet overall.Cable to the camera is 3m which is good I think 5m would have been better. Now for the bad.As an outdoor camera while the picture quality is good the safety of the camera itself for me is terrible. You cannot fit it to anything unless you are using the magnet feature. There is a sticky pad as well but in all fairness I can easily remove this camera from where it is fitted as it was. I have made some of my own adjustments to combat this but overall I felt this was not very good versus other outdoor cameras I have purchased from Tapo. The next issue is the USBC cable. Not being funny but all you have to do is remove it and the camera is offline. Its not got a secure housing around it at all at the back and can easily be pulled. This one for me was not ideal if you were popping this up on the outside of your property if you ask me.Yes the recording would capture this all if it was removed but very easy to detach and run off with it should someone wish to.3rd I think the SD card slot has no security either like the standard cameras that at least have a screw lock system which is better than nothing this one does not even have that. Its just pull it away eject and you have the memory card also.Overall I do not hate this camera but I do feel its lacking in keeping things secure rather than being able to run off with it.Tapo I very much hope you review this its a good little camera but security of the camera itself is very poor.

Good quality
in the description it says that the camera has "color night vision" I don't see such an option anywhere in the settings. The manufacturer himself does not provide such information, so how is it?
