Quick, easy setup and good quality print/scan output
This Brother multifunction laser printer/scanner was purchased for occasional printing and photo scanning in a residential home environment. Having used numerous printers over the years (going back to the 'buzzing' dot-matrix printers in the early 80's) this one was by far the easiest and quickest to set up (has Wi-Fi, USB and Ethernet options). A quick firmware & software download from Brother got it up and working in about twenty minutes. After several months of use I'm highly satisfied with the print quality (nearly all being text based), print speed, scan quality and scan speed. We don't use the fax feature.

Works great
This is a well functioning useful printer. I had no trouble setting it up and it's been working since I purchased it and that's been a while ago now. I print from my iPhone, iPad, and laptop, so I have tested it in many ways and it connects seamlessly. The print speed is normal to any other printer I have used and I haven't had any problems with it jamming. The print quality is great and the size is normal.

Awesome device!
The easiest set up and operation ever. Avoided all of the App crap and used a cat6 cable. It was recognized immediately on my network. The set up comprised of connecting the cable and setting date/timeโฆ..voila, DONE! I retired another Brother that worked well for 16 years and this one is even better!

Great all around printer, and breeze to setup!!
This printer is so easy to setup and does a great job printing, scanning (I haven't used or installed the fax portion). But if you need something reasonably priced, easy to setup, and does a great job printing I highly recommend this printer. These are the operating systems I hooked this up wireless, 2 Linux machines (1 Ubuntu, 1 Linux Mint), 2 Windows machines (1 Win 10 (home), 1 Windows 11 Laptop), Samsung Android phone, Samsung Android Tablet. All were very easy.

A good solid machine
Besides printer updates on what's going in their machines to print with concerning different ink brand cartridges is almost nonsense. On the contrary these are some solid printer machines. Set the printer up correctly through the brother app. and computer also with cords (wi-fi) first along with updates and everything from printing to faxing works like a charm. No hang ups with commands along with speed of printing etc. A time saver on getting the task done.

Silly, Exasperating, Pitiful Excuse for a Printer
Several years ago I switched from Brother printers to Canon. This piece of junk reminds me why. When I needed to replace the Canon that had served me quite well for 6 yrs (prior Canon lasted 5), it was for cosmetic reasons; printer still worked. This time Canons with features I need were all too large and heavy. So I took a chance on Brother. How bad could it be, right? Answer: VERY bad. My main requirement for a printer, besides the obvious, is an ADF. Other lasers I saw with that feature were bulky and heavy. The Brother came and no wonder it was so light. It looked and felt like a toy. I'd say it performed like a toy, but it would have to improve to garner that much credit. First, who the #!%$&* thought it would be a good idea to design a printer that requires user to go in BACK of the printer to clear a paper jam?! Every office I've ever worked in, every home office I've ever had, printers are against a wall. I have yet to see one sitting in the middle of a room. For certain types of jams, I have to pull printer out about a foot or so, turn printer around, then clear the jam. WHY MUST I REPEATEDLY HAVE TO "RECOVER" WIRELESS CONNECTION? No such thing as a quick print job--at least not the first print job of the day. I never turn off the printer, but do turn off my PC every night. Next day, every day, I have to go into printer settings, choose "Recover WLAN," wait about 5-10 minutes for document to print. I've learned to fix breakfast while it warms up, wakes up, or whatever it's doing all that time. Those are the biggies. More minor annoyances: Screen doesn't stay lit. Very strange defaults, some of which I still don't know how to disable or change--assuming that's even possible. I've used printers for 25+ years. I've had Epson, HP, Canon; Canon being best, but all were ready to go once set up--and stayed ready till they gave out. My 1998 printers were better than this Brother. Okay, so will it print from my phone or tablet? Yes, both. But that doesn't make up for its many inadequacies. Scan? Yes. Adequate I suppose. Fax? I've had no reason to try that. Obviously, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this Brother printer.

Reliable
So far sooo good. No hp app to contend with. Doesnโt get glitchy and seize up like hp. User friendly and Iโm happy not to keep buying tons of ink. I actually really like the black, thought I wouldnโt

Great investment
This printer has been perfect for quickly copying a page. Printing from my phone wirelessly using WiFi. It is so convenient super quick. Was a breeze to setup. No more buying ink just for it to dry up between times I need to use it. Has a great touch screen display. This has been a great investment in our house. Only ever needed black and white ink anyways. Doesnโt ever jam up.

Annoying nagging update requests
It's a solid machine that does a good home office job. The software that constantly wants me to update the firmware is very annoying. It works so don't bother me, Brother.

Oh Yes, please!
Oh Yes, please! Set up was easy โ box was portable. Machine is user friendly. My old Brothers printer stuck with me for more than a decade โ though decided to upgrade to MFC for my new one. Brothers Printers are fairly long lasting. And just absolutely fabulous!
