The newer model has the same slimline external design, but is now backlit (much easier to see and set), and also has an 'early start' function (which automatically switches the heating on based on the time you wish the floor to reach desired optimism temp). Very easy to exchange and fit, provided you follow wiring as per instruction leaflet, and on previous timer (if it's a replacement timer, take a photo of old wiring on your mobile prior to starting).
