I'm not sure what the casing is but is seems pretty durable which is great for a kids gift. Its navigation is super easy to flip through. I wish the icons were a little bigger so the kid could see the picture better. Its a challenge for him to read them (can't read) so a bigger/better icon would have been better. My biggest issue with this is that there isn't any Bluetooth for headphones. If this had Bluetooth to sync a set of headphones for the music/movie watching would be amazing and make this 5 star.
