Great idea. Practical usage length 35-40 cm (despite sales info). Handling and transport issues.
It's a great idea, and it has the looks - black, sleek, curvy. Sometimes I need to produce a lot of portions (entertaining, office, club buffet, charity bake sale) and decided to get properly equipped. This tin is great because portions are marked out by the ridges ("would you like one ridge or two?" you can ask people). It extends to about 45 cm (despite sales info saying at the time of writing that the diameter - they mean length! - is "25 - 35 Cm)", but the practical baking length is 5 to 10 cm less than that, because at those lengths the longer it extends the less stable it feels. Grease it extra as the length is a problem if it sticks in the slightest. Decoration can be quick, unless doing a yule log, because a lot of frosting or piped icing would make the tin's lovely curves lose definition so minimal decoration seems the way to go.You'll need an extra long cake tin, cake board, cake box or cake caddy. Roulade caddies are usually 35 cm with less usable length e.g. 32cm for ASIN B00BND6C7S. I suggest an upturned ASIN B007USPXNY, 5.2 L, Gastronorm size 2/4, matching lid available as a "base".From the instructions: "Directions for use. Grease your Patisse bakeware lightly before every use. Before using your bakeware the very first time, it's recommended to bake the mould empty for about 10 minutes in the oven with a temperature of about 180 degrees C."Instructions say: "To clean your Patisse bakeware, rinse in warm water, wipe it with a cloth and dry it thoroughly. Do not use in the dishwasher." Adding my ha'p'orth: to avoid risk of rust, keep it soaking until ready to wash it up, dry it straight after washing it, don't let it air-dry. I must admit that when I'm tired after baking several things I feel rebellious about washing by hand and immediately having to dry up stuff and it feels like a faff.

100% happy
The price is not expensive for the quality and the different utilities that this mold provides. And the fact that it is expandable makes it essential.
